I agree with you. I am very happy with the team, and it is probably the smarter move to never retaliate when you feel another player or team has made a dirty play, but I've probably been exposed to too many action adventure movies in my lifetime. Honestly, I really hope Leafs consider promoting Marchment, he's a decent player and big and gritty. Could use some of that - especially when teams are permitted to take liberties with our skilled players. Bruins would have no hope of competing with the Leafs based on talent - even with their full regular line up.

I like Marchment - just needs to play well on a more consistent basis. I'm also not sure it is in his nature to play more physical game in game out. I think he sees it as a niche he has to pursue to make it further in the game, so he forces it upon himself. I don't think it comes naturally to him...like it did for his dad. JMO.
He is still young-ish though...he has time to get grumpy.

Salary cap issues will probably dictate that Leafs use entry level type player contracts for their 4th liners for the most part. This makes Marchment valuable moving forward. He has size and unlike Gauthier, he can use it.

Hyman saw Marner and Matthews take at least a dozen questionable hits. How many times did Matthews and Marner take cross-checks last night that weren't called. In what world should that knuckle dragging team take less pentalties than the Leafs?

The refs lost control of that game and were terrible for many reasons, so let’s not act like it was one sided.

How does Hainsey not get an instigator on that? There’s examples galore of what not to do reffing, but it went both ways in this one.

In what dimension did it go both ways? Bruins had 3 power plays to zero against the Leafs in the 2nd when the game still mattered. Give me a break. You mean the token penalty when the score is lop sided? oh ok. You don't have to agree with me, but the officiating when Bruins are at home are like the strike zone in Yankee stadium. I know Tyler Ennis was the dirtiest player on the ice, he should have been more penalized than Backes.

And what exactly did it have to do with the second period or the officiating? He got a 5 minute penalty, will probably be suspended for a game. Leafs remain relatively speaking the most penalized team in the league - by far - does that make any sense?
Kronwall's hit on Matthews was much worse and he got 2 minutes and not even a garlic breath from Gary Bettman for it.

The Bruins are the most penalized team in the league.

The Leafs are the least penalized team in the league.

Last nights game had a playoff feel to it so it’s no surprise the leafs lost that tilt. Hopefully they don’t match up against Boston again or they’ll be in for yet another 1st round exit.

Blah blah blah - get some new material, or don't bother.
