Probably not. Unless, he's comfortable with our provincial and federal taxes

Boston was the better team. Leafs tried the gas pedal a bit but not enough
- BreathLeafs2015

they were sleep walking in the first and Boston was coming in after losing 3 games and the media dumping on them for not being tough.

i expect the next game to be more chippy.

all that said, there's 2 very obvious leaders on the team Kadri and Rielly.

the thought that Matthews is the supposed captain, based on games like these, seems to be a joke. Tavares was just as invisible.

I dont remember Sundin being such a wussy, for all his talent and skill.

This was a great game for the Leafs. A nice kick to the nuts. Playoffs will be 100 times worse.

Nah, Leafs don't need to add some size and toughness.

One team that could be a trade partner for Blues general manager Doug Armstrong? The Toronto Maple Leafs.

“I don’t think that Armstrong is shopping Pietrangelo, but that doesn’t keep teams from calling … and asking about him,” said Kypreos. “I believe one of those teams is the Toronto Maple Leafs. I think where that would have to start is if Toronto and (GM) Kyle Dubas get St. Louis to possibly bite on (Nikita) Zaitsev’s contract – which is owed another five years at $4.5 million.

“If they can exchange right-handed defencemen, then there’s a chance you could put a package together maybe with a draft pick, a prospect, and then the likes of a young, fast player for St. Louis in the likes of (Kasperi) Kapanen or (Andreas) Johnsson.”

Was Kypreos trying to include the Leafs into trade rumours with St. Louis regarding Pietrangelo? Kypreos mentioned Zaitsev going the other way along with picks and some young talent
- PatC80

Kypreos was so out of it with the NYlander situation I doubt he knows anything about the Leafs.

Putting someone in the lineup that is an enforcer or whatever doesn't work either. Having a fighter on the team wouldn't have stopped Matthews from getting injured.

People will cling to this "Enforcer" idea until they start winning again and it will be forgotten.
This is a very good team. I worry about it's coaching more than anything.
We just gave away a young, cheap, big winger who was a fantastic possession player due to our coach, who never seems to be following the stats.
Our 4th line is now horrific without Leivo.

I shake my head this morning reading what the Leafs are missing is an enforcer that can play 5 minutes a night on the 4th line and will likely be scratched in the playoffs.

Agreed. Choosing Ennis over Leivo is a mistake. Ennis is useless. Leivo is bigger and better defensively and just as good (I think much better) offensively

And Ennis will be UFA. He'll want more $. We gave away a guy who I think was our 4th best winger. And he was big, young, cheap and a terrific possession player.
That was 100% on Babcock.
I see major issues going forward between Dubas and Babcock. Dubas is a stats geek, Babcock ignores all stats.
Dubas has to litterally take guys away from Babcock, like he did with Leo and Polak. If Lou was still here, we would have tried hard to keep Leo.
And I have to read the Leafs are missing a goon, and those same people ignore the Leivo situation.

4th best winger?

I don’t think so, he was our 7th winger ahead of Ennis.

Marleau Nylander Marner Kap Johnsson waaaay better then Leivo IMO

I’ll give you Brown Hyman and Leivo for debate I guess

If hes better than Ennis why trade him and keep Ennis?

Who cares about Ennis UFA, I would hope he can be replaced by a Marlie by next year. He’s a Harry stat experiment...people crying he’s here are the same people that wanted skill over the toughness. Some people just need something to cry about. ( not directed at you )

Leafs didn't play their game. Looked slow and chasing the game all night. Tried to outgrit the Bruins, bunch of fights.

The takeaway for some? Less skill less speed more grit more fights.

You answered your own question...he’s a stop gap and an experiment by Dubas IMO

Matt Martin should have been kept on 4 IMO

Hits - fights and usually doesn’t hurt you on the scoreboard and can actually make a pass.

I care because he took the spot of a guy who is younger and better and wouldn't be RFA.

Martin can't win a fight to save his life, no offense terrible defensively. Why should he have been kept? He take a spot from kapanen or Johnson.

They saved a total of 5 million on the cap dumping him. Why do you think Martin would crack this lineup? He's not good enough.
