I have liked what I seen from Gaudette so I have to admit I am hoping for some movement. Of course you need to give him time back but if we can get assets for Sutter then I am OK with going younger
- VANTEL

I'm coming around on Gaudette. Looked like he was headed back to the AHL for the remainder of the year a few weeks back, but he is playing relatively defensively sound for the TOI he is getting.

He just needs to find the net a bit more and the rest will come.

Didn't the CRTC ban Money for nothing because of the lyric someone who is attracted to the opposite sex?

I give him credit for sticking behind the team good or bad, but sometimes you have to look at the facts.

I pushed for Schaller in the summer but you need to cut your losses sometimes and say I am wrong. Facts are facts

- VANTEL

Nighthawk has always loved all things Canucks. Wont take that away from him.

I pushed for schaller too. Didnt mind the signing and cap hit, but youre right, sometimes you need to make tough cuts and not save face.

Italian. Looks to be a spicy Italian sausage lasagna...

fresh calabrese bread and cheeseplate too....

- LordHumungous

It’s an almost Super Tuscan at a quarter of the price. Pretty damn good and Italian is always the way to go when serving Italian. Just keep in mind that a big red is going to make spicy food seem spicier.

I would be okay if he hits 5 goals in his rookie year.

Definitely Italian. I like something a little spicy, with something spicy. As Cubsey said, big reds (high in alcohol) will accentuate the spice, and likewise, the spice will accentuate the alcohol in the wine too. Here are the BCL's selection of Primitivo (Zinfandel) http://bcliquorstores.com...atalogue?search=Primitivo

Stylistically the wines from the south of Italy are similar (mostly...). Apulia, Basilicata, Calabria, Sicilia, Campania. Usually "big", mostly bold, often rustic and earthy. Go out on a limb and try something you've never heard of!

ya Kind of what I'm looking to do. The standby's are all good and fine but need something different. I grew up with an Italian Grandmother so am pretty familiar with Italian wines/food and such but there is always a good recommendation out there.

Normally I would go with a higher end NAPA wine that is pretty bold that I haven't tried yet but like you said a good Italian meal deserves a good Italian red.

Sagrintino Di Montelfalco and Aglianica Del Vultura are two DOC(G)'s that will do the trick. The Government stores have a terrible selection...

The stores here in Alberta are hit/miss. Some really great ones some not so much. We don't get a lot of the best Okanagan stuff out here for e.g.. as it costs the wineries in BC a small fortune to ship them here and there is little to no profit margin for them. Everything is all privatized in AB so there are pluses/minuses.

Well all the armchair GMs are out in fine form today, if only dippoop wasn’t here the bestest hockey player would sign with the Canucks. If only Benning didn’t sign this guy or that guy, if only I was in charge, if only Bettman liked us, if only, if only.

You guys really do give me a chuckle every once in awhile.

It’s an open secret that most wine clubs will ship to your home in Alberta. It might be worth looking into if there is a winery or wineries that you particularly enjoy.

It’s not just the cost of shipping, it’s the fact that almost all of the Okanagan’s production is consumed in BC. We don’t make enough to export much.

Lol, forgot you were out in the great white north. Red Deer right? I seem to recal a couple decent shops out there. Lived in Calgary a few years, didn’t get to Red Deer often.

Hate to interrupt the wine talk, but I've just posted a new blog, setting up Sunday's game against the Blues and taking a look at a good win last night for the Comets, featuring two goals from Jonathan Dahlen.
