I remember when we all thought Guhle was can't miss and now Tennyson is in the lineup
- mattmoulson

If there's one guy I want here on emergency only, it's Tennyson. I want Guhle playing minutes. I want Pilut playing minutes. I want Tennyson around if a warm body is required, and even that's questionable.

Great write-up as usual Pach. I sure hope they win tomorrow against the Flyers because otherwise, this board will turn ugly!

Regarding the Sabres D situation, I am disappointed they are bringing up and (likely) playing Tennyson. Give that 5/6 spot to Guhle and let's see what he can do. Imagine the road runners we would have on D if Guhle played - Risto, Dahlin, Pilut, Beaulieu and Guhle can all skate. Only Bogo would slow them down.

Also, if Guhle isn't ready, why wouldn't they bring up Redmond? That guy is crushing it in the AHL.

Lastly, Scott Wedgewood was sucking in the AHL. He better not get on the ice while wearing a Sabres uniform.

I believe Redmond's on an ahl deal...the sabres would need to sign him to an nhl deal then put him on waivers...

Johansson getting the call up makes a lot of sense now that we know hutton's out tomorrow...wedgewood is a bench-warmer until hutton's back...

and finally, phil varone was recalled and will be in the lineup for philly tomorrow...

A little nit picky, but this is from a few days ago:

Right now, the Rochester Americans just want to “get a look” at Buffalo Sabres goalie prospect Jonas Johansson, coach Chris Taylor said.

“We’re going to get him up here for a couple of days,” Taylor said.

Considering the first-place Amerks have two goalies in Scott Wedgewood and Adam Wilcox, Johansson’s recall from the ECHL Cincinnati Cyclones on Monday was a bit surprising.

Wedgewood had a 35-save shutout Friday and made 35 stops again Saturday.

“It has nothing to do with them,” Taylor said “He’s had a really good year,” Taylor said.

Overall, Johansson is 7-3-1-1 with a 2.49 goals-against average, a .910 save percentage and two shutouts in 12 games.

The Swede earned ECHL Player of the Week honors last month.

Looks like Johannson earned the call before the injury.

Tell me about it. I'm about done with this crap. Took me an hour to get from Millersport/Hopkins Road area to Main St in Snyder last night (from 5-6pm) - white-knuckling the steering wheel the entire way. A car went into a ditch on North French ! Poor bastard ...

The Buffalo News just had an article about climate change and I think it said we'll be 9-10 degrees warmer year round in about 30 years ... I can't wait that long ! I gotta get outta here ... sick of cold temps and shoveling. Yesterday, my friggin' snow blower cord ripped out when I pulled it to start. Easy fix, but still...what a pain in the @$$ !

- kritter65

The roads were horrendous last night, most were untreated and it was right around freezing so poop was melting and falling off cars and then freezing on the road so you had a nice sheet of packed slush, basically ice.

Yeah, thankfully changing out a starter cord is a simple job. I've made like $500 picking lawnmowers or snowblowers that simply needed a new starter cord for $10, or even if the whole unit needs to be replaced it's only like $20-$30 at the most. That and ~$8 spark plugs.

So Scandella has vertigo ? Say's so here :

https://www.tsn.ca/nhl/te...m/buffalo-sabres/injuries

NOT GOOD. Vertigo is a symptom of something else, and hopefully it's nothing too serious (vertigo is a symptom of many things, including concussions, ear infections, etc..), but hopefully it isn't something worse. For those of you unfamiliar with vertigo, it's the worst. Imagine being on the tilt-a-whirl or some other type of spinny ride at an amusement park. Now imagine that horrible room-spinning feeling (when you get off that ride), and imagine it for a couple of hours - with lots of vomiting.

Let's hope the report of him having vertigo is false, but if it's not, let's hope it's mild and eventually goes away for Marco Scandella.

- kritter65

There was a goalie like 10 years ago who had vertigo and missed a bunch of time, I can't remember who it was.

Edit: Jonas Hiller in '11. Jeff Hackett had to retire because of it in '04.

You always have to respect the process,” Guhle said. “You see good defensemen in the NHL who played two, three years in the AHL.”

That's a long drive just for the day... But check out the Adventure Science Center

http://www.adventuresci.org/ or the Nashville Zoo https://www.nashvillezoo.org/

Zoos are incredibly depressing. Green polar bears, suicidal giraffes, poop throwing monkeys.

Monkeys that jerk off are the best part of the Zoo IMO. Especially the ones that do it specifically for attention.

Is it really true there are endangered tortoises out there and the Army had to build a huge habitat for them? I read it in a book, but it sounds like bullpoop and also exactly something that would happen at the same time.

I drive through Bakersfield every now and then if im road trippin.
I try not to stop there. I've stayed in Barstow plenty of times. It's a little methy around the edges, but there's a good mexican restaurant there.
