Well, Hayden comes from 50 feet away to initiate the conflict.

Deslauriers could have had a penalty for his punch....but Hayden the clear initiator. Not surprised he’s the only one gone.

But the Hawks have no idea how to retaliate within the flow of the game or in a way that assures no penalties or two. Same with Keith against Salomaki - long after the play he goes after the Pred.

It's not a question of not knowing how to retaliate without taking a penalty. It's about some physicality and size. Like Weber on Anisimov and having other forwards that can throw a bodycheck within the rules.

But they don't have any. I have watched women's teams around Toronto who are more physical than the Hawks.
