Anything is honestly possible as we inch towards the dreaded "r" word that the front office is publicly choking on. |

Front office has no clue what to do they thought the core would play at high level forever, i'm exaggerating , and they don't know what to do. They're spinning their wheels because the plan is not working. So until Mcego and bowman are gone it will be more of the same so hopefully Rocky comes to his senses and assets whats going on and makes the obvious and tough decision in firing bowman. |

I'm always hoping, but I'm sick of being lied to, and watching the back peddling or re-acquiring former hawks. Progress is not defined as what once worked years ago will work again years later. |

You are dead on. With a team that has veterans who have won 3 Cups, Olympics, World Championships, Conn Smythes, an Art Ross, a Hart the Hawks hire a coach who has never coached a single game in the NHL, not even as an Assistant. One year in the AHL. No years in the top Swedish League. All 4 years as a second tier Swedish coach. Three terrible years and then one final better year. Obvious recipe for disaster.
There is no possible way the team did not say “Who is this guy?” Does he show anything? No! No inspiration with respect to lines, pairings. The PP is a joke. The D-Zone coverage is a joke. His big inspiration - Gus and Kampf are phenomenal. Yikes! - Z3Hawk
Colliton was introduced to Bowman by the Swedish scout the Hawks have over there. They had a conversation and Stan came away impressed. Sometime later he offered him the Rockford job. One year later he is qualified to replace Q as an NHL coach.
My opinion is that this promotion is the laughing stock of the NHL and definitely not something the veteran players with all those skins on the wall accept as anything less than lunacy. That said, those players owe good guy owner Rocky their best effort every night until they move on to greener pastures. And Stanbo needs to be put out to pasture so a qualified candidate can be hired. Until then this team is a very sick patient. |

The only thing that makes sense in this mess is that by removing Q, they can start making trades without Q imploding. JC can only nod his head at the moment. |

Q's smelling like a fresh cut rose right now. And he looks even better by keeping his mouth shut and taking the high road. Can't say that about a few others.

The Hawks organization looks very Junior Varsity right now. Stan and McDumbnutz need to go ASAP. |

I want the hockey equivalent of Theo Epstein and Jed Hoyer for the Hawks front office.
Can you imagine them finding some guy managing a team over in Japan, hiring him to manage the AAA team in Iowa, and then the year after that firing Maddon and putting that guy in as manager? You know why you can’t imagine that? It’s because Theo and Jed don’t have their heads up their asses. |

Shovel Fave is always looking to get rid of anyone that might be standing in his way. Q obviously questioned too many decisions of the front office. That is why he is gone. |

I prefer to give him a wee bit more time before I rush to judgement on him one way or the other.
That said, he wasn’t put into an optimal position for success. Stan and McD sure didn’t do him any favors with the way they made this transition.
It’s not like he hasn’t had any success as a head coach, can it translate into success in the NHL only time will tell.

The Hawks are a Laughing Stock right now. A Head Coach with no credibility who conducts interviews like he is 5 years old. On top of it 2 Assistants who would be tied at the bottom of the List of people you’d like to hire as Assistants. One Front Office Ghoul, one Scotty Minion. |

If the Hawks turn it around and start heading the other it will be player driven. Player pride. The players may start winning in spite of the coachinh staff. |

While I’m not a fan of putting JC into the head coaching position, I have no problems with his interviews. He strikes me as well spoken and surprisingly candid. |

Agree, he's in a hard to win position, if the young ones
start performing then their is room for hope.
What I think might help is if he went with same 3 lines for
5 games or so, only fiddle with the 4th, same goes for the D
and then start tinkering. Only flaw to this is not many will be
slotted where they belong.

He could give a better assessment of Gus. Other than that I like him. He is not in a position to succeed, but any Q replacement wouldn't be either. |

The only assessment of Gustafsson is that he is AWESOME.

You know what they say, "Don't follow a legend, follow the guy that followed the legend."
That said,I'm thoroughly unimpressed with JC at this point. By any objective measure, this team has performed worse than when he took over, unless tanking counts. Do the Hawks start on time? How's that power play? PK? Team defense?
While I agree he hasn't been put in a position to succeed, falling to 31st overall with the league's worst goal differential is a pretty epic failure at this point.

Agreed. I think his composure and confidence are remarkable considering that he's only 33 years old. For those of you over the age of 40, think back to when you were 33 and if coaching an NHL team and then taking part in a press scrum is something you could've handled. For those of you in your 30's and younger, are you coaching an NHL team and answering to the press every day? |

I think tHe Hawks win tonight - followed by another fall off the cliff culminating in an embarrassing blow out in the Winter Classic in front of 1 Million fans-
Personally - I’m hoping that’s the tipping point for Stan & he’s shown the door ! |
