What do you guys think? I still think the Jets will be forced to trade Trouba in the summer. would Trouba for Patrick and Myers be fair on your end? I think this has the Jets taking more risk. You could then have a top four of Provy/Trouba and then Sanheim/Ghost. It brings Patrick home to /Winnipeg and we hope he develops into a solid 2nd line center and Myers gives us a young d we hope develops into a top 4 option or at the very least very solid bottom pair guy.

Well maybe Hextall negotiated the contract, but Holmgren traded for him. The third round pick traded to the Islanders in 2014, the pick after that selection the Bolts drafted Brayden Point.

I think people complain more about other guys in his class and their current output more than Patrick's ceiling.

There is still time for him to be best player in that draft too, once/if he is surrounded by better complimentary players along with his own progress.

He’s got a chance to be a Scheifele kind of player. It’s going to take him a bit because he’s not going to be winning foot races all that often. That’s my biggest “concern” - let’s call it, but not one that should hold him back.

If he was 2C on a team like Toronto or Nashville, or had a competent coach to guide him properly - he would be fine. Things look worse than they really are right now.

Some guys are better than Patrick, but that's reality and that's life. That doesn't mean that Patrick's done anything wrong in his development -- FFS. It takes time

Read the thread. Guy asked who are these 20 year old centers who are excelling. I am not saying Patrick is a bust. I am saying it is a possibility but he is behind in development. We are talking about a 2nd overall pick. He is certainly underwhelming for that position.

Or you could put Dmen in motion and have the offwing, center and d rotate through the slot for onetimers. You know, like we always say our goalies are too slow to cover when other teams do it against us.

Agree 100%! Patrick is a heck of a hockey player and will become a stud if he is given proper time and support. He is a late bloomer and if he isnt broken by the pressure he will grow into a proven commodity when his body catches up to his skill level.
