Just got in from Hockey...what's the word? I see we blew another lead?

Any positives or is it just lose for Hughes?

Honestly, this kind of sh!t drives me bat sh!t crazy. SN signed that 500 mil deal with the NHL and there is NO reason why every CDN game should not be broadcast country wide for all to see. Except the cable companies and SN wanted to keep it regional coverage to still force the user to buy the centre ice package. a joke.

TSN has five high def channels and they have curling or basketball on all five...

Caught the hi lites:

Nilsson brutal on the winner much like Luongo style.

Good to see Leivo score though and Pettersson get a point.

So...Is pettersson going to put this team on his back and start scoring or what?

Between Elias and Bo, they played 47 minutes.
This team needs Sutter back.

I’m sure there will be differing of opinions, not many positives other than Leivo scoring in his first Canucks game on his first shot.

Pettersson and Boeser assisted, but I thought both played with a pedestrian style.

IMO, high lights do not show a true representation of the game, Nilsson was not the reason, it was a chase the puck carrier and allow multiple cross ice passes for basically easy PP goal, not Nilsson’s fault. Disfunctional defending issue.

And yes Pettersson did get a point but was no where near carrying the team or even the play....same as Boeser.

Neither Brock nor Elias have yet played a full season of hockey in the best league in the world.
These kids are still learning how to play at this level.
In a transition period like this, some ups and mostly downs, are expected.

Fair enough. I know our D is brutal...goes without saying. But Nilsson did look like he was in position to make the save just was way to deep and 'low' in the blue. for a goalie that is 6'7" off skates that poop shouldn't go in...just me but oh well.

Pettersson and Boeser obviously need support...but have to start to get rolling on their own. I realize teams are keying on them but good players make sh!t happen. Get 'er done. lol

12/13 losses and no talk of a coaching change?

Fine.

I'm more curious how he looks in game 10 of his tenure. Leipsic looked dynamite through his first 3-4 games last year and then turned into Leipsic.

If this losing streak has showed anything its how embarrassingly weak this team is along the wings. Boeser is the only one who looks consistently dangerous.

Jake is fine but he's not really a weapon. Watching Roussel and Granlund out late gave me a migraine. Leivo might be something but long term I don't know what to really expect.

I never thought the team would miss Baertschi so dearly. I knew he'd be missed, but I didn't think it would be this bad.

Lind and Dahlen are a ways away as well and after them you're left with scratch tickets in the system.

I'm not sure what Goldy did that was so bad he needed time in the press box over a few others. I really don't know what Green is seeing in Granlund.

I like Tanev, but watching him get the puck in a prime spot in the home plate and then stick handle it over to the boards before chipping it in deep hoping to win a 50-50 behind the goal line is frustrating. I know he's not exactly PK Subban but throw it low and on net when you've got net side support.

This team so desperately needs a RHD that has a bias/confidence to shoot.

Granlund is the exact type of a player you always see on bottom feeders. Does just enough that the fans won't turn on him completely, but has no place on a decent team. He'd stick out like a sore thumb on the 2011 Canuck roster.

170 pounds and not even a fast skater

I hope Seattle doesn't claim him

I wish I'd hung onto some receipts from people around here thinking the future of the LW on this team was solved with Leipsic. Could cash in big time right now.

I think if Granlund was kept in his lower end role there is a space for him on a number of teams.

But watching him elevated in the lineup so often just confuses me. Jake has an off shift, he's down the line up or off the PP. Goldy doesn't cover defensively on a 1 on 3 board battle and he's out.

Dude's a bit more useful than Loui but they're basically the same player offensively. NB just seems to love him on the second PP unit and for whatever reason he gets the tap for extra attacker it seems.

the most disappointing part for me is that he was soft as butter, for a guy who was "the Marchand of the WHL" I was hoping he'd at least agitate and stir some poop up once in awhile.
