Every team is going to lose an asset for free in the expansion draft. The question is whether the Kings are going to lose one that has a future, or lose one whose best days are behind him.
Blake should listen to offers for Quick. Then he should talk to Seattle's GM when they finally choose one to see how much it would cost the Kings to get Seattle to pick the player they want them to. If Seattle's ask is higher than the return offers for Quick, then they should keep him and leave him unprotected.
