I’ll learn to spell his name right when he plays better

And NO,
he absolutely should’ve deflected that shot
Was slow to engage

Right, it had nothing to do with the guy who has 15 goals in 14 games. Ok.

Not surprised Sabre fans are talking Leafs and Matthews. The Sabres are a good young team and what are they talking about? Dreaming Matthews signs an offer sheet.
Jeremy White and his disciples are suggesting the Sabres sign him because he “likes” playing in Buffalo. Others say Arizona is going to sign him. Makes perfect sense since there hasn’t been an offer sheet signed in a decade. Not to mention there will be over twenty elite young players looking for new deals next summer. It makes no sense to drive up salaries. Well. Maybe to Sabres fans
Also remember. Dahlin could be offer sheeted in two years. Good luck with that one.

- BernardShakey

The last offer sheet signed was in 2013 and it was O’Reilly when he was still with Colorado. So it’s been 5 years. Not a decade.

Arizona is desperate for a player like Matthews and he is from there. How many great players come from Arizona? Not too many. Maybe Matthews signs an extension this year, who knows but I wouldn’t count out the Yotes.
- c1067

dude. lol...

he's 100% signing in Toronto long-term.

You have a good team! You don't need to be cynical about other good players anymore! Be happy! Smile!

Wrong. They can and will move Hortons contract to the IR list if needed. Just as they did last year. It’s just a $ transaction. Leafs have tons of dough.
Stick to making crap up about the Sabres

winning streaks bring out common ground

I fear we are not as good as our record, hopefully the bottom 9 will get fixed

imagine RNH as our second line center right now

skinner, jack, skunk
sheary, rnh, thompson
e-rod-casey-okposo/pommer
stink, stank, stunk

scandella, nylander and the sharks pick, add guhle or borgen if needed

does that get rnh?

he is a missing piece right now

- homiedclown

Sobatka, Berglund & Thompson were supposed to be the depth that solidified our forward group

They’ve been disappointing overall,
with a few nice games here & there

We need better

Leave him alone he's on a roll, even with signing Skinner we can pay Dahlin.

Who doesn't enjoy Toto?

The wild dogs cry out in the night
As they grow restless, longing for some solitary company
I know that I must do what's right
As sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti
I seek to cure what's deep inside, frightened of this thing that I've become
It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you
There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do
I bless the rains down in Africa
Gonna take some time to do the things we never had

So he can’t be offer sheeted like you used as an example. It’s a moot point.

Do you think they should sign Skinner? He would get a huge return in a trade.

From what I was told they have started talking but it's just a start. Should hear more towards the end of January.

It was a great shot
Doesn’t mean Sobotka (spelling, just for you) couldn’t have stepped up quicker & deflected the puck

Time was almost up, he had to shoot right then
He shouldn’t have hesitated there

I read somewhere that his agents were telling him to go to free agency. I’m just afraid that he will sign a big deal and he will turn into Moulson and Okposo. I sure hope not, but I’ve seen athletes do really well in contract years. We shall see.

We wouldn’t get a huge return in a trade because he’s a ufa after this year. He’d be a rental and rental typically don’t bring in the best return. I think he’s been key to this team being where they are now. He clearly has chemistry with our #1 center. He should be signed. It’s not hard to figure out. However I think we end up having to wait til after the deadline so we can offer him the 8th year.

Of course the Reinhart lover is an RNH fanatic . I’m just playing with you though. I think RNH would be a great fit with his speed in a top 6 role on this team. His cap hit works too if I’m not mistaken.

well they don't anymore, or at least it's incredibly rare. They wouldnt attempt to do it to Matthews, or even little Jacky-poo.

and pegula would match obvs..

- Arctic_AARDVARK

If any team is ripe for it it is the Leafs. He'll probably sign before FA anyway, because something rarely happens is a bad reason not to lock him up before it can. You're going to have to lose someone. You can't have ~$38M in your top 4 forwards and expect to be good(conference finals or better) year in year out.

We can pay him 8 if that's what he wants but there is more to it then that, not all about money.

Berglund-Sobotka-Girgensons would make a great 4th line. If we can find two guys that can play top 9 roles I like our chances in the tournament a lot more. Erod, Elie, and Larsson can get left at the side of the road. Sheary is a fine 3rd liner.
- Pegullaville

That’s about a $9mil cost for that 4th line though
Fine for this season,
but far from ideal going forward

Never said everyone stinks or the sky is falling, but keep going you're sounding more and more like a fool by the post. and my avatar saying was from 6 years ago.
- SABRES 89

I've been reading your posts for longer than that, and I think most would agree that's the gist of your general "attitude" here. Which is fine, I'm just as tired of no championships as you are, and I actually have enjoyed reading yours and everybody else's posts all this time. But if you're going to constantly bash a legit #1 center, top 5 in the league, you need to get checked now and then just like anyone else would. It's nothing personal, (although you like to creep into that territory sometimes) I really do think you're a decent dude.

Skinner was a goal scorer and a good player before he got here.
- SABRES 89

Seriously 89 , so you watch hockey?

Skinner had a 204 goals in 579 games

Now 20 goals in 29 games with Jack.

Ek9 is terrible, but you love him.

Eichel is the best talent in buffalo since hasek and it's non stop bagging on him?

Eichel is the reason the Sabres are good.

Eichel made ek9 look good
Eichel makes skinner look good
Eichel makes pommer look good
Eichel makes sam look good
