winning streaks bring out common ground

I fear we are not as good as our record, hopefully the bottom 9 will get fixed

imagine RNH as our second line center right now

skinner, jack, skunk
sheary, rnh, thompson
e-rod-casey-okposo/pommer
stink, stank, stunk

scandella, nylander and the sharks pick, add guhle or borgen if needed

does that get rnh?

he is a missing piece right now

- homiedclown

Great idea and I'd love to see them do it. Just seems botts is content to let casey and the rest develop and keep his assets. Also, I think he's going to address Skinner before he does anything else

Teams don't offer sheet.

Why on earth were you shocked that he signed long-term?

- Arctic_AARDVARK

Sabres usually lose good players. Just look at Drury and Briere. That still hurts. Plus Buffalo has been a garbage fire for 5 years. Yes teams do put offer sheets. Edmonton did it to the Sabres for Vanek. Buffalo had to match because they lost Drury and Briere.

well they don't anymore, or at least it's incredibly rare. They wouldnt attempt to do it to Matthews, or even little Jacky-poo.

and pegula would match obvs..

the lack of talent on the last 3 lines, shows up more now that we have a few decent puck moving d men
- homiedclown

Still a team in transition

Exceeding my expectations though
I was thinking we’d probably just miss the playoffs this year
Now, I’m convinced we will make it

Botts still has work to do though,
for sure

Doesn't take goggles to read McJesus has 3 more points with 2 1/2 minutes more average ice time per game, yet 22 less shots and is plus 2 to Eichels plus 6. I won't even get into Eichel being way better defensively, tougher, and more physical...better leader too.

Does Toronto have the room to match Arizona if they did do a offer of say 10 to 11 million?

yes

it will be hard if the offer is 13 mil, unless they can move horton's contract

Fact is McDavid is the better player, take your rose colored glasses off. all you got is that's all you got.
- SABRES 89

So they would be like Chicago. Most of their cap for 3 or 4 players?

Not surprised Sabre fans are talking Leafs and Matthews. The Sabres are a good young team and what are they talking about? Dreaming Matthews signs an offer sheet.
Jeremy White and his disciples are suggesting the Sabres sign him because he “likes” playing in Buffalo. Others say Arizona is going to sign him. Makes perfect sense since there hasn’t been an offer sheet signed in a decade. Not to mention there will be over twenty elite young players looking for new deals next summer. It makes no sense to drive up salaries. Well. Maybe to Sabres fans
Also remember. Dahlin could be offer sheeted in two years. Good luck with that one.

FFS... that wasn't my argument. Jesus.

I said prove that people were saying they wanted Guhle over Pilut.

- BareMetal

Dude...
say something productive or just go back to lurking

Homie was the first to give us info that Pilut was pushing for a roster spot,
NOT GUHLE like just about everyone thought

the cap keeps going up quite a bit..

Marleau's 6.25 is coming off. Gardiner walking or gone at deadline. Leafs have a good group of prospects who can play either on ELC's or cheap contracts.

oilers got their marino
leafs got their elway

Funny it took someone else beating a dead horse to get you to give the same reactions that are often given to you. Even if you do make good points a lot of the time.

And I say that in the most respectful, tongue in cheek, bros busting balls we're all on the same team here kinda way. lol

Jack is signed for 7 more years after this, and he’ll be a UFA at that point.

Arizona is desperate for a player like Matthews and he is from there. How many great players come from Arizona? Not too many. Maybe Matthews signs an extension this year, who knows but I wouldn’t count out the Yotes.

Leafs are going to be like the Colts. They had their Elway. I have a feeling Arizona is going to put a huge offer sheet for Matthews and Toronto won’t be able to afford it. Matthews playing for Arizona would be a PR Dream.
- c1067

I can’t see any way the Leafs wouldn’t match any offer sheet for Matthews

Wrong. They can and will move Hortons contract to the IR list if needed. Just as they did last year. It’s just a $ transaction. Leafs have tons of dough.
