Flyers fans have been chanting to fire hakstol for at least a year and a half. Last season home opener, fans booed him at introductions. Every other home game is filled with fire hakstol chants and nothing happens. Have the alumni be forced to used the locker room of a professional basketball team instead of a professional hockey team and half the front office is fired. I am not watching or buying anything until our moron of a head coach is fired. If it’s not obvious to those in charge than they need to fire more people until someone announces hakstol’s firing |

If I don't like the tie that Fletcher is wearing at his news conference, he's dead to me.

If you want to improve the goaltending, get some defensemen that will block shots .
If you want to improve scoring, get some goalies who can shoot the puck into an empty net |

I will also be judging if he uses a full windsor knot or a half windsor knot. |

The bolded part spoke on team D. That is a huge part of the issue with the goaltending. |

I might be interperting this incorrectly, but it sounds like Fletcher is interested in giving players like Hart and Myers a shot before making trades. But it sounds also sounds like the defense and goaltending are the areas he wants to improve, and I don't agree with that. IMO if you want to improve the team defense, get some forwards that you can match as defensive assignments and can improve the PK. It will take 3 guys and you will likely have to eat the salaries of Weise and Lehtera while Lindblom might be sent to LV. I wouldn't mind a vet goalie coming in to split time with Elliot when he is healthy, like Anderson.

This doesnt change the core, or really hurt the youth movement. But it does give us 2 very good defensive lines. - youarewrong
The key to becoming a better defensive team is eliminating the individual errors first. Then becoming a team that attacks more. Plays better in the neutral zone. Bringing in defensive forwards isn't the solution. If that involves sending Lindholm to the AHL, count me out. Don't defend, attack!

This is key. It better be a full windsor. This will speak volumes to how aggressive he'll be at the dead line. Full Windsor guys tend to like pizza too.
Half windsor guys are just unyielding, unyielding. |

I just hope the work place can become more comfortable for everyone involved and they can move on from the living hell that it was under Hextall. Have they considered bringing in therapists? |

Devils in free fall lose 5-1, Butcher was a healthy scratch recently. Teams that the Flyers need to lose continue to lose. The Flyers situation is more the norm than the exception.
If I had to be,t I would say the Sabres, Islanders and Rangers will also hit a skid. This season is long from over...
Sincerely,

They roped off a section at the skate zone. It is known as a safe space. |

Saying the right things giving him time to see the reality. - Tfaehner
At first blush, it's undeniable that Fletcher comes across as composed and thoughtful. He's not your typical ex-NHL hockey player GM who's got more balls than sense. His background suggests he's able and diligent. And despite never playing, it's apparent that he's sponged up a lot of hockey knowledge from being around the game his entire life.
I don't expect him to come in and start turning everything upside down. His early career with the Wild suggest that he's mostly methodical and patient (like Hexy). I think he learned a hard lesson from trading Brent Burns that you have to be extra careful about pulling the plug on high-ceiling youngsters.
However, I worry about how he will respond to increasing fan/owner expectations as time goes on. The latter parts of his tenure in MIN was marked with signs of increasing desperation and increasing mismanagement. When the pressure is turned up, is he the guy we can trust to make the right hockey decision? I think the jury's still out on that.
It's a fresh start for him, and a fresh start for the team. Let's hope he makes the most of it.
(Thank (frank)ing god they didn't hire Dave Nonis or Brian MFin Burke.) |

Laviolette is the equivalent of an 11 man blitz. Dial it back a little. I don't see that we need to add defensive checking forwards to the lineup.

I don't think Aube-kubel is strictly a 4th line line guy. I wouldn't be against seeing him move up to a 3rd line role. He has an offesnive game and solid size and skating. - J35Bacher
I think with a full shot you might be right, where my comment about "fit" came in. The issue is you have Simmer and JVR who need to play in the top 3 lines. |

If Hextall was limiting Hakstols coaching option, why did Hextall have to send Sanheim back to the ahl last year when sanheim was clearly outperforming half the starting defense but being scratched every game. |

Were you saying the same thing when they finished as one of the top 5 teams in the league over the second half of last season?
Hak isn't perfect but IMO Hextall and the roster he assembled was more to blame then Hak. You just cant go into a season with Elliot and Mr. Glass as your goalies. I have 0 issue with Elliot for 45-50 games but Mr. Glass...come on..
Oh look he also didn't address third line center and go figure that's a struggle.
Oh look he also didn't address the PK and that is doing awesome.
Those are all on Hexy.. |

Agreed. Honestly, if the current players can play to their abilities, especially guys like Provy and Ghost and guys like Voracek put a little more effort into hustling back on D, then I think they are really just one more solid center away from having a pretty good lineup. Of course, this would mean that at least one of Elliott/Neuvirth can remain healthy and play well and that Stolarz can also keep playing well. If not, then you're probably looking for a goalie too.
