Correct. He was clearly targeting him throughout the game and that's why I believe the league will take action.

He shot almost double his career average sh% wise last season. Very likely won't happen again.

I had edited my post. It's not the scoring that stands out to me about him. The combination of speed, size and ability is something that makes a fourth line very hard to play against regardless if he scored five or fifteen goals.

If it saves another hockey player's career......which it just might, I think it was a great thing. Wison's career isn't going to end by this, but it's possible he changes the way he plays. I'm not holding my breath because it's obvious Wilson isn't too bright.

Matheson should have gotten way more for the Pettersson body slam.

Wilson should have gotten 40+ for his hit on Seney

Bertuzzi should have gotten 10+ for his sucker punch on Calvert

Reaves should get 10+ for this hit

Penalize the action not the injury result and the player doing the hit or getting hit should have no impact on suspension either unless it is repeat offender which by all means suspend them for the entire season if you have to.

Your the clown. That’s how hockey should work. If Wilson played against more Reaves he wouldn’t be Wilson. I for one don’t care if it’s late dirty clean, Reaves was obviously going after Wilson all game and it’s a job well done. He should get a bonus.

When the Pens played the Stars, I remember Ritchie hitting Maatta way late. Nothing was done on that, and this was no where near as late as that hit.

unpopular opinion.... but I miss Reaves. Not from a goon perspective but he was at least entertaining. watching Riley Sheahan and Derek Grant and Garrett Wilson do nothing well is just boring.

Bonus points that he has more goals than a good portion of our team.

I don't think Reaves would really be blocking anyone this season the same way he was blocking people last season. Our organizational depth at forward looks about as poopty as our organizational depth at defenseman these days now that Simon and to a lesser extent ZAR are full time NHLers and Sprong is gone. I think Reaves is a more useful player than Wilson, Grant, and Cullen at this point. I'd be fine with Reaves on the team this season, but his contract is bonkers.

You really can’t attempt to use logic in determining what the DOPS will do.

Exactly...a late hit(barely) is already a punishable offence...it's a 2min minor for interference. That's it...there was nothing else there. I don't care if Reaves wanted to target him all game...that's what you do to a player like that. Reaves constantly hit and targeted Wilson in legal ways. He did not clip his face off or pummel him to the ice with fists. He didn't crosscheck his neck or slash his head. We have seem far worse in the world of the NHL. If this is the kind of hit that becomes a 10 game suspension our game will be destroyed.

Dude like got hit over the bench. Wings guys on the bend grabbed Calverts twig and when he turned around to yank his stick from everyone in the bench they like grabbed him, Bertuzzi took off his glove and gave him an uppercut from the bench as dude was bent over.

Yeah Calvert probably should have gotten a game or two for spearing but Bertuzzi easily deserved 10+ but only got 2.

Yeah they seem to feel if it is penalized on the ice then no need to suspend the guy.

Its just mind blowing that the league continues to allow those types of hit with no suspension because the player got lucky and wasnt injured. It's like "hey, as long as you dont seriously injure anyone you are free to do whatever you like buddy, go ahead."

Wilson is a POS but that doesnt make the hit any less dirty than it is.

On a different play where Reeves lats out Wilson then laughed in his face gives me the warm and fuzzies
