Uhh that was an extremely late hit.
- j.boyd919

in slo-mo it looks late. At full speed its close to borderline. Nonetheless, find one single person, outside of Cap-nation, that would say wilson didnt have that coming.

I'm with ya...I think Simon is nothing but a cheap plug..will get paid for playing with players that prop his stats(just like sheary and rust). The only young player that has been able to make a difference is Jake. All these other guys are plugs to fill holes. Kinda why I didn't get the need to bury sprong. That ship has sailed though.

When it comes down to it we all know who our true top 6 is. I like Rust he does a lot of things well, he's not a top 6 but he's definitely good for the bottom 6. and I'm not seeing why Simon is always on the top line. I guess we won't have to worry about that because he's most likely injured.

Not even a little clean. Reaves just Wilsoned Wilson.

I guess it's a touch late, but no head contact. So no suspension and Wilson get's a dose of his own medicine. Beautiful.

Right? The puck was long gone. It was as dirty and late if a hit as Wilson does. But just because the hits on Wilson everyone’s like “oh yeah. Good hit. Good hit.” Get the (frank) out of here clowns.

I don’t disagree that he didn’t have it coming. I don’t like Wilson anymore than any of you guys but a late hit is a late hit and those hits are a problem in the game, regardless of who’s delivering and receiving.

The hit comes 2 seconds after Wilson touches the puck in SLOW MOTION. Isn't the threshold for interference around 1.4 to 1.9 seconds ...this is not even close to dirty.

Absolutely worst case scenario this is a 2 minute penalty. Nothing about this is dirty though...not a head hit...clean through the body.

It was not only super late, he literally raises his elbow and shoulder and leads with this elbow and shoulder.

There are more things wrong with that hit than right. About the only thing right is the karmic aspect.

Look man, if you like that Reaves gave Wilson a dose of his own medicine it's fine. I'm sure most around here feel that way even if they're not willing to admit it. I'm willing to admit it, but don't fudge an argument to seem impartial.

Dude it's not dirty ..it's hardly late. Penalties are apart of the game..every player that gets a 2min penalty isn't dirty. This is at worst a 2min interference. If it truely is late..which is actually debatable. He doesn't hit head..he doesn't clip a jaw and he hit through the shoulder and chest of the player not the back or numbers. He doesn't crosscheck his face into the boards. Nothing at all about this is DIRTY.

I just hope that whatever suspension Reaves gets he can get an arbitrator to lessen the sentence.

How do you suspend him when Wilson did the exact same thing last week with no suspension?

It's a mile cleaner than what Wilson did to the devil's player. With less of a record. I think Ryan is fine.

Christ he wasn't even hurt by the hit...he was hurt when his head smashed the ice after his bucket fell off...should have that on a bit tighter.

I agree with you. I don’t see Reaves being suspended. I don’t see a big difference between the hits. I believe both SHOULD be suspended but if they’re gonna stay consistent, Reaves won’t be suspended.

Ohh, you have the NHL mistaken with a league that makes consistent decisions regarding player safety.

This would all be true if the league was even a little consistent. They'll call retaliatory and intentional because of the target.

You don't see the difference between hitting through the chest of a player with no head contact vs hitting through the numbers and clipping the head?

I think they'll be consistent in this case and not suspend him. It was pretty damn close to what Wilson did last week. I have a feeling Reaves phone will be blowing up tonight with a bunch of thank you's.

I see intent to clip head for one player and an intent to hit within the rules for the other. Especially when the former has just come back from a string of suspensions for clipping heads he shouldn't be given benefit of the doubt.

This is why I believe the league will suspend him. Playing devil's advocate, they'll see Reaves was targeting Wilson. Plus, Wilson being who he is, I can see them making it more likely he's a target from the opposing team to send a message.

I'm not saying any of this is logical.
