They could put him on IR but he is not. I have had a stiff neck before and I can never remember it going longer than a week. Guddy has been off a week.
Benning even said today Beagle is not on the active roster and said he has to make another move - VANTEL
I know, I'm just saying. If Gudbranson is to miss another game they can put him on IR for a short term solution.
Once he's healthy I'd imagine it's Biega who goes down. They seem to want to keep Gaudette and for a homestand where you can dictate your matchups, that's probably fine. But without another injury coming up I'd imagine he gets the demotion once they hit the road.
Newell Brown needs a flogging for his pp2 configuration. |

If Guddy isn't expected back yet, don't know the latest on him, they could retroactively put him on IR to get a spot back. - Lindenis#1
I’m not sure the exact timelines, but if they put him on IR he has to miss a specific number of days/games. So if he’s not good to go tomorrow, but would be the next game and IR means missing 3 more games what do you do? |

That presser about wanting someone with a "bias for action" was hilarious.

If its retroactive to his last game it works out fine. The minimum is 7 days of game inactivity. He hasn't played since the 24th so tomorrow would be 7 days of games (the 27th) if he were to be out tomorrow. |

So one days grace before having to lose another scrub to waivers. I wonder if the Kings would claim Gagner? |

Someone on Twitter was saying Gagner was techinically exempt from waivers because not enough time or games have passed since his recall. Think its something like 30 days pro roster or 10 NHL GP post recall.
He could go again, though I'm not sure what demoting him over Schaller or Biega would really do. Schaller can't forecheck, can't PK, has negative offence and doesn't nut up when he's supposed to. You have Biega on your team because he's the perfect player to yo-yo between the AHL and NHL.
If they're bent on keeping Gaudette, Gagner would be a fine RW for him at 5v5 in the sheltered role and you still have him for PP looks to spell watching Granlund or Eriksson flail aimlessly at the puck. |

Yeah, 10/30 sounds right. Well, maybe the Kings would claim Eriksson? |

I can't seem them bothering with any player with term. Whole point of the Pearson trade was eliminating future cap.
Maybe they'd take MDZ if they moved Martinez or Muzzin for futures and wanted a warm body. |

Wasn’t being serious. Just that there seems to be a black hole above the city of angels right now and everything seems to be getting sucked up. Could be the perfect time to off-load a contract or two |

By firing Mclellan, Chia put himself next on the block. Katz made it clear to MNGT and coaching that it was playoffs this year for the Oil or there would be sweeping changes. Benning has been given no such warning. The Pettersson and Boeser picks have saved Benning so far. I think they give him rope to see where Hughes and OJ are next year. |

good point re the chia comparison. benning has nowhere near that much heat and things have been calm since TL.
i dont think oj will matter too much either way. hughes will cement his position.
the next step will be his marquee trade or ufa signing, attempted and/or executed either way - particularly if FA and him agree/disagree on said player/cost etc |

Two vastly different situations & scenarios.
The Oilers have had every advantage via the draft & since landing McDavid are an abysmal failure to date without a doubt. Benning inherited a once elite team that was both old & mired with the burden of contracts. If i were to agree that it was luck picking Brock & EP which i won’t but for the purpose of moving on then JB has earned his keep & will stick around. Therefore there is nothing that can justify Chia being employed.
I predict Chia will be fired by the end of the season give or take. Bowman will be not far behind. JB gets next season as his acid test. I’d fire Holmgren as well. I’m undecided on Armstrong. As for us i like Francis to be our new Pres. |

True. With the cap space we should have next season Benning could make a splash to help cement Pettersson/Boeser/Horvat. Our D should be fine once Tanev/Edler are gone. Then we just need a Goalie lol. Demko 'should' work out but there are no guarantees with goalies. We also have Dipietro waiting in the wings too. See where it goes. Beagle and Rousell will work out but Schaller has been iffy. The Nucks...where plugs go to die? lol |

I know a few people that work in the Oilers organization...many on the outside don't know alot of the inner workings of the club.
Yes, Chia has made some bonehead moves. But he also had that club 60 min away from the conference finals not two years ago. If they would have got the Kesler goaltender interference call right (plus a rash of other calls) on Talbot they would have made the conference finals. But that's neither here nor there now.
Two biggest obviously were the Hall and Eberle trades. Well on Hall he pretty much needed to go. He wasn't good in the room after McDavid got there as it was clear that the organization wanted it to be McDavids team and Hall didn't like that and there was a monumental amount of pouting over it on and off the ice. So Moving Hall I could see. The return? Well, it didn't look so bad when they were 1 game away from the conference finals.
Eberle? The local media/fans basically traded that guy. After Eberle's no show in the PO's a few years back the public/media outcry to trade him was out of control. Every time Chia was cornered in the media it's 'you gonna trade Eberle' 10 freakin times. So he did. Strome was showing signs of moving up on the Isles depth chart but to no avail in EDM. Lucic was not a good signing. CHia figured Lucic and Strome could easily replace Eberle's lost reg. season points but it was a gamble that just didn't work out. Al GM's make them. Plus Talbot has fluttered due to being way overplayed.
Bottom line is if the Oil make it in this year (I think they will) Chia will be around for another year or two. If not, he's gone pretty basic. I'm not even an Olier fan and it's pretty easy to piss all over them for their faults over the past 10 years or so. But really, they are only a few players away from getting back in to the mix.
