St Louis wouldn’t want to get ripped off since they’re dealing from such a strong position in the standings.

Toronto has more to lose this year than STL ever did. Media and fan expectations make that a reality, and it's true regardless of what year or chance of winning there actually are. And as a Blues fan, I can tell you our expectations are never too high.

Positions of strength come from assets available and what they can potentially do for your organization, not where a team is in the standings. Other teams don't care about other teams, only their own -- unless it's a trade that potentially can bite them later on h2h.

I agree Toronto fans have high expectations but when teams are struggling and underperforming year to year (Edmonton, St Louis) they are not trading from places of strength. Other teams know that the GM is likely on the hot seat and needs to do something to save his job and try to change the chemistry. There’s no way the Blues should be where they’re at in the standings based on the skill level on that team. So something needs to be done. Personally I would trade Steen and Pietrangelo as they’re still valuable but aging and could fetch a high return to help push the rebuild. Trading good young players isn’t how you rebuild. That’s how you ended up with Steen in the first place. Toronto traded him for pucks when they were rebuilding and he was a good young player. You got years of solid play out of the guy.

Then by all means, I'd be happy to make that deal ALL DAY.

We are the wimpiest team in the NHL and adding yet another Eurosmurf (5'7" 165) to the back end is kinda not what we need right now.

Boqvist? Is not nearly that small?

He's 6'0" in his skates at best, and 180 in full equipment plus luge weights.

Then the Leafs happily offer you Josh Leiv.... Er, well, maybe Kasperi Kapanen for your young, high flying, point per game right shooting 150 pound dman.

I don't think you're wrong, but I have absolutely no (frank)ing clue what you are trying to say

You ever watch the Beverly Hillbillies? Jethro was suppose to be the smart 1 in his family with his 6th grade education, Just like Milbury who thinks he is some sort of genius

Justin holl has zero value so that's really kapanen and a second.

As much as kapanen has shown he can play I doubt that gets it done. Especially from the leafs which is a guaranteed late second. I'm not sure a first in that trade gets it done in that trade.
