We can all pray that Stan is poop canned. His time along with mc D are long over due. Rocky deserves a lot of blame for not stepping in 2 years ago and making the change . He allowed this to get real ugly.
- Taylorst1

Rocky believes getting rid of any of the core is tantamount
to doing the same thing $Bill did, he doesnt get that in today's
world he has paid these guys for winning and trading them
won't be seen in the same manner as what his father did.

Therein lies his problem with mcd and stan, Rocky needs
to grow a pair/toss the pair after the new year.

A couple questions. Who are you going to move them out for and how are you going to do it. Real easy to sit and say you need to move these guys, much harder rto accomplish.

What is going to replace them. In Keith, Seabrook and Manning, at the very least you have 3 veteran players. So now Joki or Murphy is going to be the anchor of your defense? Forsling? Who fills in the other 4 slots? As poor as this defense has been what FA's on the market are going to be better and/or most cost efficient.

You going to dump all those guys and go get Karlson, Trouba and Myers.

Good Luck.

- TheTrob

It's time for everyone to realize this team is done and the core is no longer . Keith and Seabrook are way past their prime and coupled with their cap hit id rather bring up the young promising defenseman whom have the potential . Keith and Seabrook are way past their welcome. You can't fix this problem with unproductive guys whom eat up so much money. How would you give pay increases or bring in free agents or bring up the young defenseman if 2 guys whom are over 35 years old are on this team for 5 and 6 more years ?

Wake up stop living in the past and stop worrying about whom will Sheppard these kids. Look at this defense now with them in it .

Good question. So many posts about how the front office works or should work. We don’t talk about those things in public and (other than Stan ) I don’t know of any front office employee that posts here. Yet so many posters seem to know who is involved in what decisions and what each member of the management team should do or be doing. It’s simply amazing.

Even better are the trade suggestions. For those they assume they know what 2 different front offices are doing/looking for and what players are available.

Could it be that the NHL is foreseeing a move of the Coyotes to KC?

Would that a sustainable revenue created market for hockey, that's the big question? What about portland Quebec one of the Dakota's thoughts?

I heard Houston is a more likely destination if they move.

Great point and something was broken when Q was fired and Smith brought in as an assistant coach. That was a really poor decision when you factor in how much the players loved Q and how much Q hated Smith trying to meddle with the power play.

No wonder the core at this point can't be feeling that management is too trustworthy. Remember when all the players surprisingly showed up at Tallon's (mom or dad can't recall) funeral? He was in tears that they all showed up.

Think they would do the same for Bowman now?

Milwaukee will not and cannot financially support an NHL team. Nice city though in some ways a microcosism league of Chicago. And if you didn't see a recent November Sunday Chicago Tribune travel section story about Rockford"s tremendous economic turn around, then you missed how this is no longer a doormat totally broke and ecoromically depressed city for minor league hockey and the citizenry.

Seabrook's crazy contract, overpaid in $ and term (with customary NMC) after the record setting, cap hell (the sequel) inducing contracts for 19 and 88 lend some credence to this theory.

I'll take a stab at it.

Raddysh is in the category of offensively gifted but needs to improve with defending. Might be T.J. Brennan 2.0 if he can't work on his positioning and reads on developing plays in the D zone.

Dahlstrom, Carlsson, Hillman, and Gilbert are in the mold of defensive defensemen. If there is one in this pack who can step up with some offense, it's Carlsson who has a good shot from the point. All skate pretty well. Even though they're still learning and can get beat time to time, they don't give up on plays and are willing to play physical. Gilbert is the most physical while Dahlstrom could stand to use his 6'4" 230 lb frame more.

Snuggerud and Tuulola seem to be tweeners so far: not awesome puck movers and offense producers while also not defensively solid like the other 4 defensive defensemen. They're not horrible either, though. Just kind of blah. Snuggerud has the most potential to step it up offensively while I like the physicality that Tuulola can bring. They both have tools but are just inconsistent.

Campbell may bring leadership and experience but is clearly an AHL depth defender and career minor leaguer.

- AEL_Fox

Thank you so much for the breakdown. O had been trying yo piece together an accurate assessment but was lacking veracity on Raddysh and Tuulola.

I suspect furthermore that Snuggerud a could become a big scoring AHL while Tuulola might find a crack opportunity with another organization.

Btw Norell was descent/could play either side, got low shots on net and resembled Hjalmarsson style. Lost out in numbers game as did another Carlsson and Press. Although latter two may never have risen above AHL level.

I believe that Dahlstrom would be a solid third pair guy if he was willing to use his big frame a tad more physical checking.

I see Rocky giving the okay on trading core players, I just don't know who or how soon. I do want to know what happens behind closed doors ....
Which comes first, players requesting a trade, or going to the players to waive?

I'm excited for the Seattle expansion ... especially after Vegas set the bar as THE expansion draft team to beat. Coach and gm options? Who will be the first player they "draft?" Instead of Ari coming over, can we get Det back? I want to hate them again!

Don't think so. If Detroit moves back west, there will be an imbalance between east and west. Right now 15 in the west, 16 in the east. Seattle makes it 16-16. If the wings move east, it will then be 17 west, 15 east.

On another topic, heard on SiriusXM today that Las Vegas does not have to expose any players to the expansion draft and will not receive a share of the 650M league entry fee Seattle has to pay.

Yeah, I know there would be an imbalance, just wishing out loud. Too much manuvering of teams.

Wow, didn't know that about Vegas protection. That kind of sucks, I think. Thanks for sharing that.

Hell of a hockey game in Buffalo. Matthews had a pretty unbelievable toe-drag to snap shot bar down with 2 secs in OT. 15 goals in 14 games for Matthews.
