yeah, he should get about ~67% of those 10M in year 1 + the 2M in signing bonus.
so, about $41.7M in pocket money for Willie. ~6.95M per...! - 21peter
Yup ...was thinking about the cap space for the Leafs this year. That's the $7,017,623 number for 18/19. |

he's been a beast since he returned. What I find interesting is will he honor the last four years of that deal?

14 goals in 80 some games. That is better than willie if we look at icetime and linemates. They should have used money on a D guy 10 year younger than 47 year old HeinZ |

Seems strange that your favourite team didn't offer more than a career AHLer for him.
Time to fire the GM in NJ?
Or in Philly? I mean the new one...
Did Ek write about this Leivo trade in the Roomer Chart? What percentage did he have of Leivo going to the Devils? What were the Devils offering?
I can't afford the season ticket - just hoping an insider like you can give us the straight goods. |

I think Marincin would be claimed for sure. Probably Holl too. Just can't have enough dman depth in the league.
I hope Grundstrom and/or Engvall get a look on that 4th line towards the end of the season. - walshyleafsfan
All the more reason he should be placed on waivers immediately.
Also, Marchment is playing damn good hockey with the Marlies. I think he'd be an excellent 4th line call up. |

Leivo sucks man..
Just watch him play once..
Roughly comparing him Nylander is not doing yourself any favours.. |

The St. Louis #Blues will once again need to place someone on LTIR in order to exceed the ceiling, accommodate player recalls, and still remain cap complaint. This will be the third time since the season started that the club is forced to use LTIR relief.

Why would they waive him? He’s played very well and for the league minimum...that’s value for the Leafs.
And they can resign him to whatever they want while Lievo has to get at least a qualifying offer of 1 million. - Santo_44
If it's that tight of a cap decision (a few hundred K), then there's my answer I guess.
All things considered, I would keep a 4-year younger player with some size and jam vs. a bang-up midget with a few dangles and a whole lot of turnovers. |

I like it.
You started off with a few change ups - criticizing the Leafs for trading Leivo.
But now you are bringing the heat - we should have signed Nylander for under $6 million!
BOOM GOES THE DYNAMITE!!!
You should probably switch next to the Arizona Coyotes offer-sheeting Matthews next summer, although you may want to keep it current and talk about the Leafs' defensive woes - I mean, they only rank 3rd in GA/G.
Have you thought about calling them the Laffs? That really gets under our skin. |

Not gonna lie to you - I wouldn't mind a guy with a bit of size to play on Marner's line.
We don't really have that. |
