And Trump has shockingly increased the National debt in under 2 years that has never been seen in history. Republicans use to rant about debt under the Dems, now they don't care.

Not to go all Leaf fanboy here, but these analytic and cap crunching nerds know what they're doing and holding out to the last possible minute was more and more beneficial for the cap hit going forward. They still got Nylander to a reasonable number and are better prepared for our other big RFA signings. I really don't see how there is any fault here ad I think they did a great job.

That said, I do not believe Nylander will still be a Leaf by the end of the contract as management will simply try to avoid going through this again.

Also teams would think if they trade for him in summer they could get better contract. Could they prolly not but GMs have big EGOs. Also, I think the leafs being good is good for hockey. Bigger salary cap and it is fun to watch sabres and leafs being good at the same time. Cant wait for Sabres to put a smoke the leafs Tomorrow.

Sabres have a good chance of winning the December 4th cup tomorrow night. Probably don't even need to bother playing the rest of the season.

Hard to disagree with you, but two factors will mitigate this. One the salary cap can go up, possibly significantly - good news for the Leafs, bad news for welfare teams. The other factor is the CBA - owners will be looking to make some changes - allowing every team one buyout as suggested by Wedgie might be a possiblility. Creating a special franchise player designation - with at least some cap relief has also been mentioned.

2 Jack plays center
3 jack is top 10 in point this year
4 Jack plays against the other teams best line every night, While Nylander plays against other teams 3.
5 Jack makes players around him into super stars.
6 Besides his rookie year. This is his first year healthy and not having to play with high ankle sprain. Which is the worst injury to have. last all season.
