Everyone wants to just replace Nylander with Kapanen because Kapanen has been good for 1/4 of one season. Maybe before making knee jerk trades for the sake of making trades you at least see what you have in a player.

Has Kapanen been good? Yes, very good. But it's less that 30 games... At least let him get a full season in before throwing away a player that has done what Nylander has done at the age of 22....

Plus as good as Kap has been, and he has been a nice bonus for the Leafs, Nylander is significantly better.

Tavares signing eats up the cap space allocated to forwards which indirectly costs Nylander's spot.

Pietrangelo was born in the same (frank)ing year as Tavares and he's a player whom the Leafs actually need more than they need Nylander.

The "cost" of Nylander is a fair one to pay if it balances the team positions and defensively.

You can enjoy Nylander on Leafs for one last season
After that, it's cap crunch time.

Hopefully he'll put up great numbers - so we can deal him for another good winger.

I'm not a big fan of Gardiner, and think Nylander adds more to the team than Jakey...
However, I feel that Dubas and Babcock might want to keep Gardiner over Nylander, and trade Nylander for a good young RFA winger..

I hope for Nylander he'll have a good first few games, if not, some Leafs' fans will start booing him quickly - nobody needs that..

You know, there's a reason why we can't have nice things... look at all of us female doging about our team, trading our best players, always looking for a goat to put the blame on... old habits die hard I guess.

Trade nylander who is a good young winger (who just signed) for a good Rfa winger?

What part of that makes the tiniest bit of sense? Why trade nylander? Why trade him for a winger? Why trade him for an Rfa?

He'll be back for game in Tuesday. Just a paper transaction to make room. Will waive someone and make room for him again. Or maybe trade.

Probably holl since he's not playing, which is dumb. Should be marincicn.

Babcock likes running with the extra dmen. Probably one of the forwards. Smart money is it’s the Goat being waived and Ennis/Leivo rotating(though Leivo should be a lock)... but I wouldn’t be surprised if Dubas moves Brown, instead.

I agree about rotating those two. Leivo for the “heavier” games .

People were saying kap could replace nylander (it was much more than 1 person) after kaps first 10 game. Ridiculous. I believe coontlander has a higher ceiling.
Nylander won the contract battle, 4g's shy of 7 is not a win for dubas, but dubas couldnt let him sit.
Nylander will play all season and it will be nice to see our full forward line up during that time. Actually it will be great, but i could see willie being moved in a few years time or kap plays himself into a higher cap hit and will get moved as a result.
But this year, we move pics to fill holes at the deadline and load up. This is our best chance for thr cup, hopefully dubas makes a run.
It should be fun.
