Yes 40 shots is ridiculous. Leafs were not sharp. Didn't like the way Matthews was tackled and hooked all night without a call though. I think the refs may be afraid of influencing the game too much because the Leaf power play is so deadly.

Has Kapanen been good? Yes, very good. But it's less that 30 games... At least let him get a full season in before throwing away a player that has done what Nylander has done at the age of 22....

No, it's not just Kapanen. It's Matthews, Marner and Tavares too. It's the fact that those 3 guys will cost 30 million AAV. It's the fact that Kapanen can replace enough of Nylander's offense that Nylander can be used as a viable trade piece to fill a distinct area of weakness of defense. Not a single person has said to "throw away" Nylander. That's an invention of your own mind.
