I’m going to say Matthews has the best vision/knowledge of the game

AM34 can handle and shoot a rolling puck quicker and more accurately than anyone else in the history of this league

^This was my guess as well^

Better than that kid in Mighty Ducks: D2? You must be joking. Only an Emilio Estevez-coached child can fire off a proper knuckle puck.

Matthews is the best at knocking down a pass in the air and getting the puck off quickly and accurately. His ability to corral bouncing loose pucks is unbelievable.

Kessel for Silvferberg would be a great way to make the team worse.

Rust for Silfverberg makes much more sense.

I'm gonna be a homer here and say that both Sid and Geno have better vision/knowledge. That isn't to say he won't surpass either of them, but right now I don't agree.

Craddling pucks, knocking them out of mid air and rifling a shot.

I would put Marner ahead of Matthew's to be honest.

I'm guessing you have never heard of Dave Semenko and Marty McSorley.
- Atomic Wedgie

McSorley's career high in points was 41, while playing with a superstar who routinely put up 100-200 points per season.

Semenko's career high? 27 points in 1 season.

I fail to see what point you were trying to prove, unless it was mine...

I would say Matthews is the greatest I’ve seen at receiving passes on the offside and being able to pivot and fire a shot quickly and accurately. He gets the shot off from the non-one timer side with amazing footwork as quick as most players do from their one-timer side.
Receive the pass, pivot feet, and fire all in the blink of an eye which is a very difficult skill.

Damn, a lot of donkeys in laffnation eh? Obviously its his wrist shot release. He has the best vision in the history of the game are you guys serious? Yeah his vision is so great and he makes players around him better thats why he has more goals than assists every year right? Best 5 on 5 player ever? Really? McD had like 20 more even strength points than the next player last year. Matthews wasn’t close enough to sniff his dust. He had more assists last year (70) than Matthews career high total points (69) but Matthews is a better playmaker and elevates his team more right guys? zzzzz

Matthews guess: Knocking down/receiving pucks in mid-air and gaining immediate control.

Awww, poor baby. Did we not talk about McD? We totally forgot we have to bring him up in every conversation about how good Matthews is.

My guess: Matthews is the best at shooting from any angle, he can get the puck on his back and find a way to get a dangerous shot or opportunity in one motion. He can be facing the other way and find a way to receive the puck and shoot in one motion

Me too.

Have you been to the place Johnathan Gold loved in the OC? I know VEGANS who go there (I would never be vegan) as its THAT GOOD. I haven't been as I wont even drive to Kings games and Staples is 11 miles away (meaning 1:20 in rush out on the 10 east)....

On Matthews

Abilty to get people to talk up his special abilities in fan forum for an agent to read and go Huh, thats a good idea . Lets increase the asking price.

Kidding

His one special skill is a mind set . On and off the Ice to not get raddled by media and or a bad stretch of games .

Mental Fortitude

As for player for a comprible I have no clue
Crosby ?
Mackininnon ?

I would take Matthews on my team in a heartbeat. But the best ever? I guess you didn't see Gretzky, Lemieux and Orr play.

At 2019 trade deadline

To STL: Nylander, Gardiner, conditional 4th round pick
To TOR: Parayko, Perron, Bertuzzo/Schmaltz

Tor may need to retain some portion of Gardiners salary to make cap hits work but they can and will only need to for 2-4 months
