No one ever rounds up. If something costs 5.75 or 5.99. People rarely say 6 dollars. They usually go with the number they see which is a marketing ploy. When you see 5.99 seems cheaper than $6 in the sense that its more than just a penny.

Assuming Matthews signs for 12 and Marner for 9, they would have 64.15 million tied up in 6 F (Matthews, Tavares, Marner, Nylander, Marleau & Kadri) 2 D (Rielly & Zaitsev) and Anderson.... not much cash left to replace Gardiner and fill out the rest of the roster

Probably not. The salary cap is likely to go up and because of Horton's contract, the Leafs should be able to make due.

I'd be curious to see what the cap penalty for buying out Marleau is vs. the cap penalty for exceeding the salary cap in the summer is (and then going back under the cap after Horton is allowed on LTIR)
