Ennis is so much meh. He doesn't do anything any better than the guys he's in competition with, and he's not as big, doesn't play C, or isn't as good defensively/play pk like the others.

To me he seems like the overwhelmingly easy choice to sit. If some injured or really starts to struggle he can spell them for a bit.

I don't like Anus at all. He's played well the past few games though, I'll give him that.

I think it's an easy choice that he should be the guy sitting when Bill Ny plays.

My dream scenario:

1st round: Senators take us to 7 games. In 7th game, we humiliate them 12-0.

2nd round: easy win vs. Boston (kill that monkey on our back, plus possible road trip) or Buffalo (would be a lot of fun between fan bases)

3rd round: gotta be the Habs. 7 games - we win in triple OT. Oh Lordy Lordy Lordy, can you even imagine?

4th round: beat Vancouver in 5 or 6 games - just to extend the fun a little, and of course we win on home ice.

I understand the sentiment... but against the Habs, would be beautiful to just have four blow-out games, one after the other, Carey Price demolished (not becuase I have anything aginst him personnal) - just to hear Hughson and Simpson losing their poop. That would be almost better than the actual win itself.

Marner is unbelievable.

I don't remember ever seeing a guy who could seemingly skate in a combination of directions all at once and then make passes like that.

He is starting to look like when he played junior.

He really is. And that's amazing news for the Leafs.

i thought the price hype was warranted for a 3 year stretch there. he was basically andersen this year but for 3 straight years. impressive as (frank)

I like that he's a viable trade option, if it comes down to that.

But I also believe that kids make mistakes. As young and exciting as the NHL is with the youth taking on more and more of an important role, there are still hard lessons to learn in the playoffs and trading Nylander in a Larsson for Hall type move doesn't fix that.

Nobody said to make a Larsson for Hall deal. Pretty sure the idea is to get a legit #1 RHD. Nylander is surplus, the defense is a deficit. Trade surplus to patch up the deficit. Simple.

Lol. He isn't being traded. They didn't sign him at this point to trade him. Don't be dumb.
- Archaic

If they didn't sign him, he's worth less so the idea that "because they signed him they can't trade him" is just wrong. It was crucial for his value to sign him.

And I'm not saying they will trade him but they definitely should be looking to upgrade their defense by using Nylander as a trade chip.

I’m glad they signed nylander. He can be traded and playing with Matthews and also with Tavares on PP might drive up the return value in a D man. Leafs can payout signing bonus on July 1st $8.3 then package him for a top four RHD

Every game that St. Louis loses, is a win for the Leafs. Pietrangelo (with an extension) should be a big target.

If it's there...and it's good...like too good to pass up, go for it. No emotional ties to Willy anymore.

Like Ennis' positional play lately, but he is just a guy.

If they can get Pietrangelo (with an extension) for Nylander, they'd be stupid to pass on it. With St. Louis being in 2nd last, him having 1 year left, they may not be able to convince him to re-sign. He grew up playing with Tavares so there's a tie there too.

He's a warm (very small) body. He hustles, he's had a few lucky goals but he's the obvious guy out. Perhaps Gauthier is the other guy who could sit out too if they alternate.

Not a top D four D, that covers a lot of ground. If you trade Willie it's gotta be for a top pairing D, one with a lot of positive qualities because Willie is an elite player entering his prime on a fair contract, you need an excellent D coming back.
