His reasoning makes no sense... since when do you pay someone based on where they are on your depth chart and not on their actual skill. He's basically saying Nylander is worth 10M on Arizona since he'd arguably be their best player this year but since the Leafs actually have a team he isn't worth 7M?

If it comes to that. If they let Gardiner walk, I do think they'll have to seriously considering moving Nylander for help on D, but this year, (frank)ing giver and go for it.
