The Nylander contract is the start of the end for Dubas. He completely caved at the last moment giving Nylander 7.5 for 6 years. This screws the Leafs for Marner and Matthews next year. Marner agent will take Mitch and his top 5 point leader status in the league to a contract of 12 Million plus knowing Dubas will cave, and Matthews will see an offer sheet for 14 Million per. Dubas should have let Nylander sit out the year, now the Leafs will probably lose Marner or Matthew as they can’t have 3 players in excess of 11 Million. Kapanen’s agent will probably also be looking for 6 million, he too may be gone. So much for long term Leaf success. Keeping a team together is no longer possible in a cap system. Maybe letting Matthews go for 4 first rounds might be the better way to go that matching a 14 Million per season deal.

Nothing to worry. A player under contract is easier to trade after $8.3 signing bonus.
Our main concern is 16 34
It will be fine
Also marleau at $6.25

When the CBA is renegotiated next year they should make following the cap a decision that each team gets to decide for itself. It hurts teams feelingz when they are forced to do the same thing that everybody else has to do.
Don Cherry would have been sent home with a package 20 years ago if he had any other job. When he retires, they'll get Steve Simmons to replace him just to keep to stupid level even. - TheMussel
