All i said was blackhawks were unable to win a single playoff series once they sign big two to long term deals. Which shows how hard it is to win with couple players eating up huge part of the cap. Especially when you have no defense and have no money to sign anyone.

I made a mistake, the years the Hawks signed Teows and kane to their RFA deals was 2010 when the salary cap was 56.8 million.

SO a 6-7 million dollar deal was a 8.4 million-10 million

so......They signed 9 million for 6 years each in today's salary cap.

And they had no problem winning with those.

I am not an idiot i know how contracts work. The thing is he will never sign a 6 year deal. NEVER. It will be 8 years around 12-13 mil. Unless he gets injured again. Which i hope he doesnt because sabres need him to sign big deal to hurt leafs and he is fun to watch.

Why did Kane and Toews sign a 6 year deal but Matthews wont? I am curious how you know what length of contract he wanted?

Also read my last comment about the salary cap actually being 56.8 million in 2010 when Toews and Kane singed there deals....
