Patrick Kane is the only NHL winger getting 10 or more. Even Kucherov did not get 10 million after his 100 point season last year.

About that $10m for a winger. Start with OV, Patrick Kane and then think about how much Laine will be asking for in June. Nylander is probably the 5th or 6th most important player on the team. I don't always side with management, but they absolutely had to dig their heels in on Willy.

They cannot do the same with Matthews or Marner - both will get huge offer sheets if the Leafs do not sign them before that deadline. At some point there will be conversation that goes - "We would like to win some championships here and both Auston and Mitch are key pieces - this is how much cap room we have - if we want to compliment you with a championship caliber team - and you can have it all - you decide how much you take. If you leave anything on the table, we will use it to make the team better" And by the way if any of your parents, brothers, sisters cousins, aunts, uncles need jobs or would like to make safe investments in Canadian Tire, we will take care of all your concerns.
