Edmonton claimed Valentin Zykof off waivers. I was going to suggest it yesterday, but figured our record will keep us out of any waiver claims.

If Guhle had his sh!t together he would have been recalled as opposed to Tennyson today.

Pilut is playing not Tennyson so it doesn't matter too much.

Laine in November 18g 1a. How could you possibly only have one assist when you play with so many other good players and get 18 minutes a night. RFA next summer. Is he $10m+ player next year?

Im pretty sure he is just told to shoot any time he has the puck. 13 goals in 6 games? Imagine if he wasnt buried on the 3rd and 4th line for a majority of the season

He should get more than 10. Winnipeg has some serious cap issues next year. No clue how they're going to manage that.

That will put them right up there with the Cap struggling teams. $23m to sign Laine, Trouba, Connor, Lemieux, Morrow, Copp all RFAs and UFAs Myers, Chiarot, Tanev. $23m with only 12 players signed next year. But they do still have Kulikov for one more season at $4.33m.

People keep bringing up the "Backup" thing, but the backup on TB does have a 9-4 record and their starter is 9-3-1. Not much of a difference.

Last night's loss doesn't upset me for a few reasons. Playing short on D for most the night (including an extended stretch with only 4 guys) against a high scoring team like TB and keeping it a game is very promising. Also held them to 1/5 on the PP. Unfortunately the one came with one our top PK guys in the box.

There is a HUGE difference between Vasilevskiy and Domingue. Domingue gave the Sabres two soft goals last night, Charmin soft. If Vasy is in the game this would have been a 5-2 game.

I credit the Sabres as they hung tough and played scrappy to make the game competitive because the Lightning dominated the possession and high-danger chances.

I was at the game, atmosphere was great. Also the Bolts played without their #2 Dman for most of the game as well just as the Sabres were without McCabe.

Look forward to the next matchup.

Louis is the better of the two.

Possession and high danger chanaces don't matter.

Our #2 is better than your #2.

Can you tell I'm salty the streak ended? You're right though, the better team won.

Maybe we should start talking about how every team that loses to us lost to a career backup?

- adambuffalo

Well, in fairness, having watched Domingue carry the mail while Vasy is out... I may now be addicted to pepto bismal. He's an okay backup, but is not near ready for the workload of a starter, let alone an elite starter like Vasy.

Luckily, we can still score our way out of goaltending woes; a longstanding Bolts tradition.

It's hockey, Vasilevskiy might have given up 7.

I'm not jumping on your board and saying the Sabres would have won 4-3 because Hutton gave up a couple softies of his own.

I am not trying to start any poop. I was just stating that Vasy is a better goalie then Domingue, its not even close... Domingue gives me heart burn every game he plays that Vasy is out.

Buffalo made it a game even though they were out chanced and had less possession. They came to play and it showed.

The atmosphere in the arena was great, I'm looking forward to the next meeting.
