Did they dominate and did we win the game?
- SuperSchennBros

It was their first game back together after being split due to each struggling and slowly finding their games. But you can't be wrong so my whatever applies.

Ok then stop starting pointless arguments. You were trying to say that they weren't dominant and if they were so dominant why were they split up. So I answered that. No need to be a condescending douche about it all
- ajw12

You messaged me and I responded accordingly.

Plus Feanor started the argument by calling me not bright. If you have an issue, take it up with him.

He's more knowledgeable than JoeGrief and his 92 years as a GM

My issue with a Provrov-Gostisbehere pairing is it's like making a front line of G-Coots-Jake. Everything else below it is oatmeal.

Parise and Suter were UFA signings. The Wild also never really came close to being a true Cup contending team.
- MJL

Yes, UFA Signings... I meant to say Fletcher's not afraid to pull the trigger on a big Deal (trade, UFA signing, etc...).

Fletcher started in 2009... It took a few years, but his strategy lead to playoff appearances from 2013 to 2018 - which 3 of these years were 100+ seasons. Sure, they got knocked out in 1st or 2nd round, but the West had been the tougher conference over those years. We haven't broken a 100 points since 2011-12. His system seems to work.

To me, the Wild were always one of those teams that were good, but not good enough. Like the Flyers for a lot of years.

I agree with you. It would have been nice if they were performing up their standards to start the year with the play of the Sanheim-Gudas pairing.

What do you think the Flyers need add to become a true contender?

Is this a trick question? ...more wins then any other team.

I agree. A "contenders" is hard to differentiate from "making the playoffs". I want a team to make the playoffs, which we had for many years. Just making the playoffs got us 8 Stanley Cup appearances over the years. Since the 80's, we came close versus the Oilers, Wings, Chicago...

Which is why you split it to try something else. To spread offense throughout the line up and possibly find chemistry elsewhere. Giroux will always be our best offensive weapon. Coots our best checking center.

Sorry, but this post is not dominant enough. Needs more.

Needs a little more unyielding. Unyielding.

Jake is already off that line so it is split...

G-Coots-TK
Weise (PUKE)-Patrick-Jake

Also defense is a little different especially when your top guys are playing 25+ minutes a night on most teams. I am hoping soon we can have a Pair 2 that is worth playing 20 Minutes plus a game. Folin or AMac with Ghost kinda works the problem is then you have Hagg with Provorov. Hagg just can't do that heavy lifting yet.

Idealy you'd have pairings of :

Provorov - Partner???? playing 25 - 28 Minutes
Ghost - AMac (yeah I know people will kill me for it) doing 20-25 Minutes
Sanheim-Gudas seeing 10-15 Minutes

Sometimes you take the good. You take the bad. And sometimes you take them both and there you have the "facts" of life.
