Another three hour lunch break.

The Flyers have always had all of the most dominant of dominating things! That’s why we’re so dominant every season!

Well I really don't see them moving G back to center unless they go out and get another 1/2LW so I don't see the point of continuing to argue this
- ajw12

There's the issue we have centers for the top two lines with G at left wing. We don't have proven left wings for the top two line if you put G back to center. I don't want Weise on top 2 lines. And coach seems to not want Lindblom in top 2 lines either.

The Flyers were a 98 point team last season despite mediocre goaltending, bad coaching and poor depth mainly due to 5 players having dominant seasons.

James Van Riemsdyk and Lindblom seem like they would be fine in the top six to me. Raffl I think is a decent bottom six left wing. It really depends on where they see Laughton long term. Center or wing. Center is the biggest issue in my opinion. We didn’t have JvR last season. We do now.

But they split Ghost and Provorov so they can't be dominant!

I do think they have some influence over scheduling though.

Think about the logistics of putting together a 30 team 82 game schedule.

Can we please start keeping a count of every time the words “Last Season” is used to make a point for how bad this season is going.

I was basically trying to point out there is no way they go the way of a tear down and rebuild. I agree with your points. I'm hoping it's not Fletcher but even if it is, I'll give it time before I pass judgement.

I am curious to see how long they give the new GM to get the team to contender status. Dave Scott clearly said he didn't want to wait 3 years. What does that mean? He expects next year? I think it's doable with the right moves but what if they're not?

- FlyerFan16

What do you think the Flyers need add to become a true contender?

An G likes not having to play the 200FT game as it gives him legs left at the end of the game...He will last longer on the wing...I don't think he goes back to Center...

They already have those , IMO more then anything else they need stability in net.

Well...the argument is that they were dominant together. So hard to be dominant together if they don’t play together....

Right?

If two players are both struggling to play up to their own standards, do you think they'd be a good pairing for each other?

I would bet that if just even one of them had been playing up to their standards that they'd still be paired together but neither are.

Match - I love you but nobody is saying that. I think folks just want to see a balance.

We may have seen the pendulum swing from the extreme in Homer to Hextall. Folks just want middle ground. I think a lot of that "win now" talk by Dave Scott is what got the attention, and honestly - I think rightfully so.

- flyer_nutter

I agree that a middle ground, closer to what Hextall did than to what Holmgren did, is preferable to the black and white approach.

However, some people are acting as if, now that Hextall is out, we can kiss a number of our high-profile key prospects goodbye in return for quick fixes. While I can't say for certain whether or not certain prospects will or will not be traded, I think that most, if not all, of our key ones (Hart, Frost, Myers, Farabee) would take a very strong offer that would have to have a major impact on the Flyers present-day. I don't think we'll be trading those types of prospects for bottom-6 wingers and bottom-3 D.

I think that Hart is pretty much untouchable, and I think the offer for the other 3 (and Sanheim/Ghost/Provorov) would have to be quite substantial.

Ok then stop starting pointless arguments. You were trying to say that they weren't dominant and if they were so dominant why were they split up. So I answered that. No need to be a condescending douche about it all
