I think it's a good media play by Babs for sure.. If Nylander doesn't sign and gets traded, or sits out the year.. The media will side with Dubas and Babs.

No insult, every team needs luck and every team has periods when they don't get any breaks and then things bounce your way.

Buffalo has eek'ed out quite a number of those wins.

Buffalo has 11 more wins than losses and a goal differential of +11
Leafs have 10 more wins than losses and a goal differential of +26
Leafs have 10 more wins than losses and a goal differential of +22

Buffalo has won many close games, and a number in OT and SO if I remember correctly. Tehre were also a couple late comebacks to tie the game. All of this stuff is heavily reliant on luck.

Basically, they are a better team than people wanted to give them credit for, but they are also getting all the breaks right now.

I think so too, it it took me a good 30 seconds to think about it and include Johnsson instead of him.

Kapanen should be on every single PK though. He makes the PK dangerous as well. He's not nearly as likely to score but I think it adds to total goals in the long run.

That's how I keep reading it too. Feels like Dubas telling Babcock to turn the heat up. Keep bringing him up. Put the media pressure on Nylander to sign so when the trade happens you can be like "Look, we really really wanted him but the greedy SOB just wouldn't play ball!"
