But you're right. In this case Arizona was the lowest placed team to place a claim, and regardless if there were other claims they get him. They "need" him since both of their regular goalies are injured.

When those guys come back, if Arizona waives him, since Toronto already Waived him this year, they can reclaim him and place him immediately in the AHL without waivers. But so can Philly now, too.

Probably nothing, but it IS weird that it's happening today. There's not really any reason for them to send those guys down today. Don't play until tomorrow, and then they go on the California swing next week.

Dude came back from a shoulder injury and scored two goals and an assist - and you could actually make the argument that their were three better Leafs than him last night.

Has it ever been this much fun to be a Leafs fan in my entire life?

I guess this still isn't at 1993 playoff level, but it's the most fun I've ever had in the regular season.

Some fun stats I've ripped from a National Post article:

Marner has had 3 assists in a game 10 times in his career (185 games total career so far).

Matthews has 12 goals in 12 games this season.

PP went 3/4 against the best PK in the league.

Damn, it was a fun evening.
