There were definitely fans of Alzner, it came up a number of times as we usually discuss UFA hopefuls. I know some of us, myself included, pointed to his awful stats in Washington. But you know a good pus minus and being tough in front of the net means a lot to some people. Sbisa is much better than Alzner. He was solid in Vegas, and has been (albeit limited by injury) in NYI too. Not a good comparison. Closer to Guddy, as Sbisa's metrics aren't horrific and he's actually progressed a bit. For example, his last year in Van was his best. I'll never get the Sbisa haters any more than I'll ever get blanket denying that people wanted Alzner, he's not even the worst! Martin, Luke Schenn... more garbage pail guys!!

Not saying the Canucks should do it, but some team (St Louis maybe?) should offer Nylander a 1 year $8.1m contract. The compensation is only a 1st, a 2nd and a 3rd. It would force TO to qualify him at that as the minimum next year, or walk away. If you believe him to be a first line winger, makes sense.

IMO one of them is a capable bottom pairing dman, and the others are too slow and rely on having "grit" and "character" to keep their jobs instead of any actual ability to defend. I know their bad, but are you saying there hasn't been on multiple occasions people wanting Martin or Schenn(not the good one)?
