I don't see them just trashing what they invested 4 years in. Four years is a lot of patience in the sports world. How many executives of strong franchises get four years to turn your team into a lottery team?

They aren't stupid. Even if you look back when Clarke was trading youth for fading stars the youth rarely turned into anything of value.

I think your fear is a little unjustified. You're fearing the unknown. It's more productive to fear the present is the future.

For sure. Hextall’s approach overall imo is the smarter one.

Holmgren had the benefit of coming in with a number of great free agents available and a poop load of cap space. Had carter and Richards already on board.

I don’t believe this franchise is ready to make a cup run with some moves for a few win now players. I want a product built to compete for multiple seasons.

All they had to do was fire the coaching staff and THEN evaluate in the off season if things really didn’t improve. Jesus (frank)ing Christ.

You can't have what's been out there this season and it's the GMs job to plan for injuries.

So fire the coaching staff too. That's what I expected anyhow. I have no love for any of them.

Sure he moves Vinny but he kind of just let time take care of what Holmgren did.

You and I are still watching the 2018-2019 Flyers 2 or 3 days a week.

That also matters to me.

No one asks me how I feel about the books nor do I watch many games of the prospects in the minors (or care if their teams win).

So four years of this and this coaching staff.

I have no sympathy for hextall with how the goalie thing blew up. Everyone was harping on it this summer Ray Charles could see it coming. And there were options. Yeah you need to do something. Maybe take that mound of precious cap space and do something.
