Starting to think with Murphy being fired, that Hak is here to stay, and now finally gets to pick his own assistant. Maybe Homer has no choice because Quenneville wants no part of this b.s.

Look, I get it... Lappy took a freaking PUCK TO THE FACE for this organization. That standing O he got from the tunnel still gives me chills. But, at the very least, he should be removed from overseeing the PK. 3 years in a row... I don't understand.... is it the puck to the face?
- cdearth23

When a man takes a puck to the face for you, you give him whatever the hell he wants, and don't you forget that.

Here:
Gritty ((frank)ing seriously)
Holmgren
Lappy
Hakstol

Gone
Hextall
Pryor

Seriously, analyze that. I have zero confidence in the direction of this team going forward. You may agree or disagree but nobody can convince me this team isnt being run by Comcast Corp

How can Hakstol be here to stay? You think a new GM is just going to agree not to bring in his own coach? That would be a real dumpster fire.

Unless he runs the PK like he took a puck to the face.

Love you Lappy, but man...

Or they will let the new GM decide what to do with the coach, which imo is the most logical answer. But Flyerz Buzz right.

No way to know for sure, but Homer's release today with Murphy getting the shiv, after a few of the comments yesterday in the presser that said they have been talking to Hakstol for a month...could be, man
- AllInForFlyers

And I don't think Hak survives this (I'm trying out some gallows humor) when a new GM is put in place, but yeah....it really looks like Hakstol went around his boss and has been doing so for awhile.

The new GM will decide what goes on with the coach. Stop answering dumb questions/comments.

There's is going to be more added to the list of "here".. this isn't the final state of the transition. Things may even be better in the end.

My take on this is they have fired Pryor for being loyal and on board with what Hextall was doing.

There is no rationale for letting some guys go and not others.

All I wanted is (frank)ing Hakstol’s head. Instead I’m being given various organs from others in the organization.

Let’s make a meat pie? Just fire the moron and Lappy with him already.

Would you really?

You get ready for even more pages and pages from me. The hate is now at 115%.

Depends on the choice for new GM. Seems they really want someone who carries out the bidding of those above him, and Hextall wasn’t that man.

It does smell like that, doesn't it?

Like you said, Hakstol isn't gonna survive this. But that doesn't mean he didn't go low before yesterday and he damn sure gave Murphy the gate today. Homer made that clear as crystal

If Holmgren approached Hakstol and asked "Do you think some trades would help you put a better team on the ice?" The head coach responsible for that team is going to say "HELL YES". The news isn't how Hakstol answered but rather that Holmgren felt he had to go around the GM to ask.

After Voracek's comments last night I can't see him on this team by Christmas. I mean sure saying the team is scared is a brutally honest assessment. But as one of the vets on the team you can't go about addressing it in that manner to the media like that.

What Canadian prospect past the 1st round over the past 7-8 years is on this team? NAK is the closest

Meanwhile ghost, hagg, Lindblom fit that description. Stolarz if he sticks around. Vorobyev if he comes back up.

The Canadian scouting isn’t good

Look at our last draft. Heavy US draft. Our US guys are doing a bang up job

- Just5

The picks beyond the 1st round have been a trouble spot in the past, but they look to have found some nice prospects with upside in recent years....Ratcliffe, Strome, Frost (slated to be a 2nd rounder), Shusko, Twarnski, Hart, Myers...etc. If anything, they appeared to find some good value in later rounds recently.

Its so much to give up and doesnt address the biggest issue this team has which is goaltending.

Im Im moving Jake and Simmonds I want it to be another Richards and Carter type scenario meaning two different trades with two different returns.

- opeth_pa

team D is the biggest issue.

The one thing I don’t really believe is they want a GM to come in and do their own thing.

They want a guy who better be damn open to the demands of those above him. Hextall wasn’t that man.

I’m not defending Hextall, but just a vibe.
