Big Mike has an interesting theory that the reason the Sabres are so good in OT is that they more great 3 on 3 match ups than any other team in the league.

I’m intrigued.

They can even throw sheary Rodrigues Beaulieu and while some would howl no other team could put together a third OT shift that strong

I know not the topic of the day, but went looking at the AHL stats, Nylander has 17 points in 19 games, Olofsson 18 in 16. Others of note, Asplund 3 in 19, Pilut 22 in 16.

I always feel Nylander is a lost cause, and success in the AHL doesn't always mean success in the NHL, but this has to be promising, no?

Nylander seems to be the spoiled rotten kid that thinks he should be up in the nhl. Not accepting he has to prove anything . he might be turning that corner .

Eh. I admittedly haven’t watched more than a handful of Rochester, but he’s getting the floater reputation pretty harshly from people who cover the Amerks.

He still has never had a breakout game or dominated a game from what I’ve read

The Amerks coverage is limited, so it's harder for me to get a full picture. Would be a nice bonus if it worked out. Eventually I have to think we either give him a shot or package him.

Call me crazy but I think if the Sabres are going to make any move for a short term gain they should be calling Holland about Vanek. He would be cheap to acquire and he’s still producing. A 3rd rounder at the deadline should get it done.

Skinner-Eichel-Reinhart
Vanek-Mitts-Thompson
Sheary-Sobotka-Okposo
Girgensons-Larsson-Pominville
Berglund, Wilson

If Thompson starts to falter then move Pominville back into the top 6 and reunite the Girgensons-Larsson-Berglund line. This team has no business moving any prospects or any of the first rounders in the position we are in. Enjoy the ride but our window opens next year. Take our chances in the playoffs with a roster like this.

Crazy. They'll ship him out to a contender, not sure we'll be that contender. Think we want more speed, although I do have a spot in my heart for TV. Maybe a western team, or Boston though.

I think he ends up moved at some point.

Would love it if he worked out but it doesn’t seem like great odds he ends up a big NHL point producer, and I think the odds are even less he develops an all-around game.

Hope I’m wrong

We also don't have a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th pick to move, unless you can somehow talk someone into taking the pick Pitt doesn't get.....but who wants that condition on a deal?

Mitts and Thomson can do the dirty work. Vanek’s hands still work and he can bury/set up opportunities better then anyone named Eichel and Skinner on that proposed lineup.

I just dont think he's going to add up to anything (he sure will never be as good as his brother), I'd move him in a heartbeat for a core piece.

I'm a huge Vanek fan, but Erod has more points in a similar amount of games

Fair enough. But a move of that magnitude is what I’d be looking at. Don’t break the bank or swing for the fences. Maybe it’s Namnitsnikov if the price is right idk.

7/10 games have come after 60 and Hutton/Ullmark have faced the most high danger area shots during the streak. We are winning due to Hasek-lite goaltending and opportunistic scoring. I’m just being a realist, we all know that this isn’t sustainable long term. I’m loving the streak but this roster as is out in 5 games in a first round playoff series.
