$500+...I'm not spending that kind of dough.

Spent big on my 52" XBR9 and my Samsung 64" f8500 plasma...top end tv's and these guys with 24" monitors see things way before I do.

I'll check out some 24" for $200 or less.

In my experience, that's because I suck at these games.

its hard to decide who I want to have the money more, the millionaire athlete or the billionaire companies
- senstroll

Whichever one has the least impact on the cap.

Or get rid of the cap...or set it to 100million for the next 5 years.

Dubas has also said he is willing to cover the cost of the flight from Sweden to Carolina and ensure that all the profits RealSports makes by way of Nylander Hurricanes jersey sales will be sent directly to Tom Dundon.

Should be fine for XBox S.

Framerate of those games doesn't exceed 60 at best.

If you're a huge nerd like Scab that has a gaming PC capable of 120+ FPS, then a 144hz monitor is useful.

The Leafs also get a 1st in 2019 if they let Dundon attach a TopGolf to the ACC.

Or Scotiabank whatever the (frank) it's called now.

You don't need to, I wanted it because I had a use for 4k resolution and HDR. There are plenty of 24" monitors in the $150 range that would make you happy.

Pretty scary all the bs nylander sightings
TSN says he’s in Sweden

https://www.tsn.ca/nyland...ish-junior-team-1.1216791

With less than a week remaining before the deadline for him to sign an NHL contract, Toronto Maple Leafs restricted free agent William Nylander is skating with the junior team of Swedish club AIK.
The 22-year-old, who has until Saturday at 5 p.m. ET to sign a contract or sit out the remainder of this season, was on the ice Monday with the under-20 club.

AIK Sports Director Anders Gozzi told Sweden's TV4 that Nylander has spent time with the team over the past month.
"Yes, in the autumn, he has been training with our J20 team in the afternoons and evenings," Gozzi said per Aftonbladet, via Google translate.
Gozzi added having Nylander, a veteran of 185 NHL games, has been beneficial for the junior club.

"…It's fun for the guys to see what level an NHL player is on, to fight him and to compete with him on training. It's incredibly fun and educational for them," Gozzi said.
Nylander missed his 24th game of the season on Monday night as the Maple Leafs improved to 17-8 this season without the winger in the lineup.
Leafs head coach Mike Babcock said on Saturday it was his "assumption" that the team would get Nylander back this week.
TSN Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie reported last week that a long-term deal between the two sides hasn’t been ruled out.
"Now that we’re close(r) to the end of the process, I really wonder how much more negotiating will actually take place," McKenzie wrote on Twitter. "I get the feeling the Nylander camp has let TOR know in no uncertain terms where they stand and I’d bet vice versa is true as well...
"Conventional wisdom is that the logjam here will be broken by a bridge deal and common sense suggests that’s the way to go. Two years if you’re Nylander; three years if you’re the Leafs. But I certainly don’t think the longer-term (six years) is out of the question at this point.
"If this deal gets done, I could see it being a three-year deal that pays out $5 million or slightly more than per year that over the term. If it’s a six-year deal, I could see it being high 6’s, like (Boston Bruins forward David) Pastrnak, maybe $7 (million) if the Leafs are able to take full advantage of the CBA rule on cap hits/AAV’s for late-signing RFAs."
Nylander scored 20 goals and posted 61 points a year ago.

You think the Leafs and Nylander sat out 30 games to save some bucks on the cap as a plan? I can't see it....more of a circumstance or coincidence if it does work out that way.

Yeah, i do. Well, more to the point, i think the Leafs did 100%. Nylander probably came on board a bit afterwards.

Maybe...we'll see if there's a signing bonus which negates the lower cap in years 2- infinity

yes, I think a GM who specializes in analytics and cap management and a player who seemingly wants to get paid as much as he can squeeze would conspire to find a situation where the player gets paid and GM manages a lower cap amount.

And Babcock talking like it's already a done deal for weeks? In a year when it just so happens that the Leafs have $13M in cap space, so they can swallow a bigger hit?

Seems like a lot of coincidence to me.

and they could be caught.... how? Do you think it's the team, or the player that has incentive to inform the league? And quite frankly, they're playing within the rules presented to them. Why would they be penalized?

It's like the NHL is in the business of running around penalizing teams for blatantly circumventing the cap. I mean, when players develop allergies when they stop getting paid, and players still on LTIR get named to a key position in the league.....
