Maybe for this season, but Jesus has had a longer career - PatC80
Jesus has injuries to his hands and feet that will limit his games played. |

Good players usually make the team - Santo_44
That's exactly why Subban won't make the team. Because the good players will take the spots. |

Point-McDavid-Marner

Marchand-Bergeron-Stone/Couturier
Stamkos
Rielly-Doughty
Vlasic-Burns
Giordano-Letang
Ellis
Holtby
Price
Fleury - AdamFrench
Looks a lot better than the other lineup.
I personally don't think either of Giroux or Couturier should be on the team. And Benn should probably be there. Maybe even Pirtrangelo. |

I heard that Leafs management met with him just to tell him that they weren't interested - Tavares was who they wanted to sign. |

Wise choice. Turned out well. Stamkos seems done like Kopitar. May have the odd decent season, but declining fo sho |

3 reasons I can see:
1)the leafs themselves are a clean, disciplined team. No goons on the roster.
2)playstyle- the leafs don’t instigate much physically, so that part of the game doesn’t get ramped up much.
3) refs are afraid of being seen as pro-Leaf, so they let teams get away with more, been that way for years. - Feeling Glucky?
I think you pretty much nailed it.
Having said that, it's always bothered me how refs feel the need to artificially even up the penalties called between teams. Is there another sport where the officiating is so conspicuously even stevens? |

Stamkos has had so many devestating injuries it's doubtful he can be productive into his 30's at a high level. |

Done like dinner.
Guy isn't even a point a game player this year. In fact, he hasn't been a point a game player since the 2017-18 season.
Best part is he's dragging his entire team down. |

That's very fair. I'm not going to argue with any logic that moves Hainsey down or out. - Monkeypunk
The other added bonus of bringing in another defenseman is that it pushes Marincin down to 8th on the depth chart;
Rielly
Gardiner
Dermott
Zaitsev
Ozhiganov
Hainsey

They'll have to move him or Callahan (pretty much same player) in order to sign Point. Apparently Brayden won't play for a cent less than 15.9m.
Hope he holds out for the betterment of RFA's world round regardless of their sport |

So when Nylander signs for a great deal at 6 years, how soon til the media starts panicking around Matthews and Marner instead?
Bonus: Does anyone ever talk about how on Earth the Lightning are going to afford Point, and how crucial it is that they do? |

Naw, it's only the Maple Leafs RFA's that ask for $15M per season.

As EK pointed out with Mark Hunter being a red-hot young GM, Dubas can be seen likewise.
Unlike most Leafs fans, I hold no qualms in giving Dubas credit where credit is due, regardless of his age, race, religion or gender.
It' a young man's world now, and Dubas is a leader of this revolution. Times are a changing. |
