That's correct. I give Hextall credit if he stuck to his guns. I agree with him if that's how it went down. - MJL
Credit yeah, but if your boss says to do something, you do it. He is working for them. If it's true then I'm sure it will be asked in his next interview. His new boss will want to know that what he says goes.
All the pats on the back for sticking to his guns won't get him his job back. |

I'm still upset, this is not a good move! Homer and David Scott are going to push this team back to where it was before Hextall came in and cleaned up Homers mess. |

The firing of Ron Hextall in my opinion is so sudden. I don’t think any of us read speculation of Hextall being on the hot seat, nor have we read about GM’s looking for a job. I love the Burke and Keenan jokes because while the suggestion is ridiculous to sign one as GM and the other as coach, I do believe this team could use some truculence. I feel like this team is very soft and easy to match up against.
With all of this said, I think Holmgren is the next in line to take back the GM role. Holmgren once took a bottom feeder Flyers team and turned them into a contender in a matter of months to one year. The youth movement began through him. Holmgren makes things happen. - SuperSchennBros
And we have got one vote for Holmgren!
Anyone like Mark Hunter?

Hart up in the past?? Dear lord. We are so screwed - Just5
Yeah man this worries me. The last thing we need is management to rush Hart and potentially ruin our best goalie prospect we’ve had in some time. |

To a point. If I'm the GM, you hired me to build the team. I'd want to do it my way, not yours. If the boss wants to run the team then run it. Hextall did not in any way mislead anyone on what his plan was.

I fear that is what is going to happen but I am going to wait to see who the next GM is before I get to worked up. |

I'm the same and I don't like this move. That could change if the next GM is a hockey genius.

I don’t agree with the firing but I think whoever takes over will be left in a great position. Hopefully this next someone isn’t hushing Philadelphia to just be patient and works like he has two decades to win us a Cup. |

I'm not hopeful, but, you're probably right, wait and see. As Bill said, this reminds me of Farrell collecting all the pick for Lindros before he was fired. Homer just can't get past the fact you can't build a team through trading anymore. |

I keep hearing people say if your boss tells you to do something you do it. While that may be true, GMs are hired to run teams. If your boss starts telling you how to do your job, then your not long for your job. If that's truly how it went down, then Hextall knew he was on his way out. |
