Other than Seabs, they all seem pretty small, or at least narrow out of their pads, at least for the stereotypical professional athlete.
@MarkLazerus
Blackhawks on the ice early, getting some actual practice in before the morning skate. This is becoming common under Colliton.
@CRoumeliotis
#Blackhawks power play units...
PP1: Toews-Saad-DeBrincat-Kane-Gustafsson
PP2: Anisimov-Strome-Kane-Forsling-Seabrook
Me likey - no Keith on the PP (though I would like Joker to get a shot) - pdx2ord
Saad doesn't often get a lot of PP1 time. I hope he can make an impact here and maybe get that monkey off his back and bit more. |

I know he hated having to defend himself and his blogs to people with their own sense of reality.
I used to p.m. him about it. |

Thank the heavens that 2 is not out there. - TommyHawk
Keith not on the PP is the right decision. He's got to be a 5-on-5 and PK guy at this point in his career. |

He's earned a shot back up there. He's been playing really well. |

I could live without him on the PK these days.
Keith loses the area in front of his goalie way too much for my liking..... |

I agree with you there.
He is just one of those guys that never seems to generate a lot of PP scoring. I know his job is often to be the traffic around the net, but he has only exceed 3 PPG in a season once and often gets only 1-2 PPG per year. (1 this year so far, 1 last year and 1 the year before)
Would be great for the Hawks if he could just figure out a way to make something happen on the PP or contribute a little more with this chance he is getting. |

Maybe with the "new" scheme with a supposed heavier focus on net front activity, he'll be more successful. |

A GM who has just traded a player NEVER talks honestly about why the player was traded. NEVER or that person is not a GM for long. Especially when the player is traded to a team you trade with a lot. The proof is in the trade. You don’t trade a player you are happy with and you view as a cornerstone piece moving forward. You trade a player you are not happy with and that you view as expendable. At the end of the day it is all just spin but no matter how you spin it the one fact that is etched in stone is the player got traded. - Z3Hawk
The reason that these GM's never talk bad about a former player, is the same reason that any old employer can't talk badly about a former employee to a potential new employer. They will get sued. Even though they make more money in a year than I maybe see in my life, the same rules apply. Can you imagine how much money Schmaltz can make if Bowman starts telling the media how much of a lazy jerk Schmaltz was. He can claim that those comments cost him millions at the negotiating table. |

Going to make a prediction out of excitement for tonight's game:
Perlini scores.
Strome gets an assist. |

I like to stir the pot.
And I am tired of all the douchebags on this site that chase away anyone that knows anything with their arrogance and ignorance.
I totally understand why John left - and it wasn't all about a better offer. He had a real thick skin to deal with all the children here for as long as he did. - dahawks8819

Davidson - Hank3Henshaw
I think Davidson will be out a while. Didn't he just have surgery?
Edit: I checked and I guess he is having knee surgery today.
Brandon Davidson will undergo knee surgery on Tuesday.
The Blackhawks will provide an update on his status as well as a timetable for his return after the procedure. He hasn't played since Nov. 13. Nov 24 - 7:03 PM

It has more to do with agents. Schmaltz's agent I'm sure represents multiple players |

I'd be sick on game days too if I had to be paired with Gustafson, who continues to get more ice time, regardless of his idiodic plays |

Dang. Didn't know he had surgery.
He played well in the game he got hurt, but I hadn't realized it was serious to the point of surgery. |

I saw a brief clip on NHL Network last night and Chayka threw a bit of shade on Perlini and Strome on their way out of the desert. I'm paraphrasing here, but he basically said they did their best to develop them but got tired of waiting. He came off as a really arrogant d-bag - Davewn
His telling quote was:
“ For us, there’s a key difference between patience and hope,” Chayka said. “I don’t think hope is a good long-term strategy. I thought we showed the requisite patience for these guys in terms of their development. You go through the checklist as an organization to make sure you provide the player with all the tools and support and helping them through their development path, but at the same time they have to show progress along that development path and eventually become the players you would have hoped they were when you drafted them.
“In this scenario, with these circumstances and this situation, we felt that we were being more hopeful than anything. We just felt that, when you’re looking at your options and alternatives, I think I owe it to our organization and our fans to see if there’s anything out there to improve our group. Obviously, the alternative is to just hold and to hope, but you run the risk of the asset expiring.” |

Gust is your prototypical new-age Defenseman: small, puck-mover, wants to be a Winger instead of play defense |

My sources are telling me the Hawks play tonight. Don’t question me or my sources, The are from deep within the Blackhawks organization. My sources are also telling me the Hawks currently sit in last place in the Central, unlikely to leave that spot the next. My sources are definitely NOT pure fantasy. My sources are definitely NOT a way to boost my tragically low self esteem by talking down to others on a hockey fan blog and claiming my opinion as fact.

Probably reported somewhere already, but I did not see it: Strome will wear 17 and Perlini 11. |
