Tampa best team. What makes you think Keith and Seabrook would help that team? They cant help this team, what is it with hawk fans that they are immune to understanding the reality of their immortals...
- TrueGrit

No idea.... 2-7 are brutal. They are brutal as a pairing and brutal apart. Keith may have some trade value but he isn’t a shut down guy anymore and he has minimal offensive value. He clearly has trouble with speed. His choppy skating stride seems to have finally caught up with him. Simply lacks the foot speed now. He’s often off balance and flayling around flat footed.

This team isn’t going anywhere until 19 and 7 are off the books. Then a real rebuild can start. There isn’t going to be some resurrection this core is done. Keith Kane Saad Toews are out there getting torched by the Johnson line. That’s your 4 best guys not names Crawford....

wont ever criticize Keith, Seabs, Toews.

this team has become unwatchable

First step is to fire Stan Bowman and let someone try to sort out this dumpster fire without bias.

Tampa is not the best team in the East.
How could you not need a solid pair like 2 & 7 to make a playoff run if you’re Babcock?

Leafs gave speed
Tampa Bay are the Ducks of the East- good team no Cup

The only way, and fastest way, that happens is when Rocky sees 10,000 empty seats everynight.

This is the reverting to the mean.

I believe Paul makes the most salient point. Figure out how to rebuild. Holding your fish, no matter how big, too long, ends up stinking.....

I agree completely. I would be happy with them getting rid of whatever assets they can to make this long-term a better team. I don’t mind them losing as long as they are entertaining — try like hell, take 2 points out of every 6 or 8 and then try to make a really, really good high draft pick for two years.

The 2 worst teams in the league have 2 of the best goaltenders - CC and Quick. A team looking to do damage in the playoffs will come calling with a nice trade offer. Don't want to part with Cro but if the return is right ...........

LOL....really, leafs have 1 good season in 14 and they are the best. Look at their blue line. They have 1 guy who would play on Lightning blue line.

But by all means. Ron Hainsey is their Duncan Keith...enough said right there....

Shocked that the coach has not changed up the lines for the Hawks here. You've got DeBrincat with one goal in his last 12 games. Kane looks disinterested. Schmaltz seems to be regressing. Change it up and make adjustments.

I have a bad feeling if some young players are moved in a try to "win now" trade...its going to be Forsling and/or Debricat

Win now? They’re the 6th worst team in the league with the 2nd worst goal differential.....

Relax francis, that is not going to happen. What is happening is the spastic random lin generator is gone. Players, all of them, are going to be forced to look within to find a way.

This is what accountability and ownership look like. These are painful baby steps. This is what is needed to grow. This organization has been mired in excuses and a false sense of reality and accountability for many years. Includes ownership down to the players, especially the core.....

Great goal by Toews....Hawks will get a PP in third...

Despite what management is saying in the public, I don't think they will make any "win now" moves. From what I've heard, they can't afford to move any more future assets. They like a lot of their pieces coming up.

For many of you long time fans, many of whom I give a hard time, this is really a time a moment to calmly reflect on how lucky and blessed we have been to enjoy such a run. To dominate the league for such a long time.

Things are humbling right now. Expectations and standards are high, I look forward to enjoying the process. As frustrating as it gets, it reminds us how special the run was....

Unless those future assets free them from the boat anchor that is Brent Seabrook's contract......TBH I would trade Schmaltz with Seabrook at this point. He has done virtually nothing since being taken off Kane's line....

I like you Grit and what you have to say, this especially and can agree. This is a message for the front office. There is a difference between being humble, accepting defeat after a great fought effort, and being humbled, not having enough talent to spread around to fight the fight. We are the latter it seems. The core has bounced back, but not enough that hides every imperfection of the team.
