This might be a great trade. I really, rally like Perlini.

I'm not a huge fan of the Strome's to be honest. Let's hope Dylan can figure it out.

Fair point, but like Kruger, they only are affective on a team that plays with the lead a lot.

Those defenders are all but useless in todays game. They just can not keep up. They have to be able to win puck races.

You remember Sopel? Man the guy could barely move but IIRC won a cup with the Hawks and was a mainstay on the kill. .... He's a hockey player, period. He's aware, does things that will never find the boxscore that helps clubs.

Like the play yesterday where Joki nicely took away Scevior's time and space and Hayden didn't have the sense to "read/feel" the play and realize there are 3 of us here and start to float/glide back to the middle of the ice without ever thinking or even looking. ..... A hockey aware player would float back, knock the centering feed down, puck never gets to Crow and the player never hits the boxscore but saves a shot or goal in this instance.

And I'm a Hayden fan but he showed zero awareness on that sequence.

Those kinda guys are gold on defense, the Sopels, Boumeesters, Alzner types. Especially old vets who made the league on IQ/compete more so than skill. ...... Always a place for a guy with IQ/compete/awareness assuming he has enough legs left. .... Now if he can skate with the Kanes or Bergerons of the world he ain't available at the TDL or he's gonna cost a top prospect and a 1st.

Take 12-14 minutes, play like a seasoned vet and allow the top pairing not to have to skate 27 minutes is all that's needed.

Probably the most talented player not named Dahlin in the draft. He will turn out to be a steal at 8 if his brain doesnt get too rattled.

Saad was a predicted top 5 pick before he tweaked his groin and fell to the Hawks.

DeBrincat fell to the second some how.

NHL scouting is weird.

I think at the high end he ends up being a Letang or OEL type player. At the low maybe a Yandle. The kids going to produce and be a very good player and a type of player the Hawks haven't had since the resurgence.

I believe Boqvist is a huge steal at 8 and there was a period when there was lots of talk about him at 2.
