How can people call the Blackhawks a bubble team? They don't even fizz.

Q apologist...amazing.

There are enough examples of Q stupidity in running guys out of town. The roster we have today, in large part, was due to decisions made to satisfy Q.

So we are stuck with the no dimensional guys he loved. Kamp, Kruger, Manning, Rutta, Kunitz. and an entitled group of original country club members who were told thier poop don't stink for far too long...

If Stan really believes this is a playoff team as constructed, he should fire JC before the new year and hire a replacement.

But I think Stan and McD try to change the narrative into a re-tool situation, keep JC, and make some deals before the TDL to try to save their jobs.

Then JC goes when Stan goes or the new GM moves in, hopefully next offseason and probably before the end of 2019-2020. (edited)

Probably right. Lol... just trying to figure out why the Hawks just flail around in dzone. Keith definetely checked out. Toews really doesn’t bring more than avg two way play. Clearly Kane is checked out and or pissed he’s stuck on Toews line. Probably a mixture of both.

Seabs checked out when he inked that new contract haha. Q and Bowman should’ve been tossed together.

Really want to know if Q or Bowman wanted Manning.

What kind of a clue do they need to understand that three Hawks can’t go to one Panther with the puck on the wall - leaving four other Miami skaters to go wherever they want to on the ice?
- StLBravesFan

No idea. I’m at a complete loss. The vaunted leadership in the room is a joke. This isn’t even a talent issue. This team just doesn’t compete or give a poop.

Plus most hawk fans with their roses and sunshine glasses, believe that Chicago is a prime destination for free agents etc? Sadly mistaken.

Wonder why that is?

That’s a load of poop dude. Hockey is a simple game, protect the net, wingers have the Dmen, center covers the entire ice with support and defenseman protect each side of the ice while never leaving the slot wide open. The “system adjustment” excuse is nothing but an excuse. These guys don’t play fundamental hockey like dump the puck at the o-zone blueline when it’s contested or having 3 guys go to cover one guy.

CLEARLY Q was the problem. What a crock of poop. The “leadership” group on this team clearly are checked out and just cashing paychecks. Their attitude, performance and inflated contracts are why we are here...in the NHL basement.

- EnzoD

Well said . I'd also add that this team has checked out for obvious reasons management is unwilling to bring in any talent that can help out. Colliton should not be the coach of this team he is to inexperienced and his inability to get this team motivated as well as putting together better lines and d pairings speaks volumes.

It's clear they have no intention on making any moves or firing Stan.

But this team is awful . Dogpoop horrible.

The manning question? I’d love to know the answer. Was it coloborative? Did Bowman approve? Or was it a straight up Q demand?

He doesn’t even play the game the Hawks try and play. I don’t understand. I should stop caring. Easier on the brain. Toews will put up points this year... rest of his game is pretty avg.

No one was being an apologist for him, but blaming it all on him is absurd. And the laughable thing is suggesting he's the one who brought in these clowns, signed players to ridiculous deals, etc. He is the one who stormed out when Hammer was traded. Q had no control over these moves, this is poop Bowman did.

Personally, I felt Q needed to go, but the smart play was to get rid of the bozo in the GM chair, get a new guy and let HIM find a new coach to move the Hawks into the future. As it is, JC gives Bowman a little job security so Bowman's Boy can have a hobby 6 months each year.

It was a stupid, premature Hail Mary of a promotion. If in fact the "braintrust" thought this was a playoff team, wouldn't they have just promoted an assistant or retread on an interim basis that knew the roster and league well?

IIRC, Toews had been asking for top six help for a while. Panarin definitely helped Kane, but Toews needed a LW, so then they got Saad back but it was a zero sum game.

The main problem with this team is that the overall talent level has been dropping for the fourth season in a row. Now the core is fading, the top level talent in the organization is a few years away, and not enough talent to bridge the gap.

fair points. But I beg to differ with you regarding the type of guys that ultimately ended up here. Of course GM signs guys, but its not like they are banging the door down. We watched for 7 years plus with SB signing guys that Q ran out of town. No gm is going to sign a guy without talking to coach first. In the end, SB was limited in the prospects Q would want and the amount of other players who wanted to be part of the circus in Chicago. Hawk fans may not see or feel it, but other teams and players do.

If Jets go South watch for Maurice to be voted out & Q in

I had Q out before Thx Giving - Collitan is in to coach the rebuild

Now I expect Christmas may signal the end for Bowman because once Rocky realizes this a rebuild he will come to his senses that Bowman isn’t the guy for that project

It was an incorrect assessment by McD and Stan to conclude that the main problem with this team was the head coach.

Kane was hosed and undervalued for a long time. Kane got Panarin for a year. Toews loses Hossa and his mojo.

Kane could skate with you and me and would get production. Toews needs a support group. Paging mr hossa....

They needed a yes man in that role. Someone who will tow the line on insisting a group of overvalued prospects can become an NHL team.

Who better than 3/4 of these guys’ former coach?

Truthfully, anyone not 2 7 28 15 19 88 20 30 and 50 needs to go back to Rockford.

What a Christmas present that would be ... "Stain, get your crap and get out." I agree with most here, him and Q needed to leave together.

Cleary Kane doesn’t seem to want to be on a Toews line. Hossa retiring was the biggest loss for this team. Clearly he made life for Toews a lot easier.

Imagine if Crosby or Malkin had Hossa riding shotgun for 6-7 years straight.

Even though Hossa never had huge playoffs Im starting to think he might have been the most important piece to the cup runs. Clearly was the teams and best 2 way forward.

Need to trade every veteran you can at the deadline. Just not sure I trust Bowman to make the right trades.

OK...you keep worshiping at the alter of Q. Only Chicago fans can pass the buck of responsibility of players and coach to the GM. As if he were fired, the group would change how they play.

SB biggest mistake, believing his core would continue playing at a high level. A mistake most of us would have made.

How useful would Kempny be right now? John Carlson, elite top 2 defensemen in Washington loves playing with Kempny.
