He's asking for what?
something in the range of $7-8 Million a year for probably 7-8 years.

I would be open to signing the kid.
I think he'd be a nice piece to play with EP.

Maybe.
I think they'll wait to see if Hitch can get him going first.

Most fans declared it over when we stomped the Canucks in the playoffs a few years back. But is it really over until you've won the cup? That would make Calgarys rebuild 29 years and counting, Canucks.........

But seriously Nylander would be a great addition for the Canucks, no?

We don't want to trade Hutton anymore. The trade talks are now dead.

I'd do Hutton and even through in Reid (OV) Boucher.

It is amazing, how people talk about the risk of drafting overagers, or even signing them as free agents, yet because a player like Boucher, who had a fantastic season, after being drafted(D+2), he is some kind of messiah, in some people's eyes.

7.5 for a 60 point player with further upside to come is fair

pretty much, but I will say I am so disappointed in the lack of physical play....watch the forwards they all just swing their sticks at puck carriers.

There was an instance mid way through the first where a duck player was carrying the puck behind his net, a Canuck forward (think it was Motte) was coming the other way, perfect opportunity to just level the duck but nope made sure to avoid any contact at all.

If the team doesn’t pressure and hit hard why would the opposition worry about moving the puck quickly and possibly turning it over. The Canucks will avoid the contact.

In my day we had a name for those types of players, but the PC movement won’t allow me to say it.

It's rare to hit someone when they still have the puck. The puck carrier usually anticipates contact and moves it to a teammate prior to impact. So the guy making the hit has likely lost defensive positioning and is no longer available to provide backside pressure. When your D-men aren't that good you'd much rather defend 5 vs 5 than 4 on 4.

Or Tanev/Edler/eg. It’s conceivable but very unlikely given how sought after he is
- neem55

Tanev and prospect should do it.

How do we know this? Once you take Matthews off his line he could easily regress. He has back to back 61 point seasons, I don't see any improvement..

You could try drafting a winger to play with EP

Boeser is the guy, any 3rd wheel will look good with them. Bo needs a skilled winger who can handle the puck and make plays off of the rush for him.

Yes, I know. If you get in deep on the forecheck and hit someone, but he moves the puck to a teammate before the hit, then you're now tangled up with the defender behind the play and have lost momentum. The situation has become a 4 on 4 heading back up ice and into your zone.

Never liked Virtanen with Pettersson. Boucher may work out temporarily.

Virtanen doesn't understand the nuances of maintaining possession in the offensive zone.

- classic321

Need someone to bust ass on D. EP is hung out to dry with Goldy & Boucher. If they don’t outscore the Ops huge it’s a line that will be manhandled if not Sedin like possession.
