yep. no issue on the pp, but 5v5? could get bumped around a little.

- hillbillydeluxe

There would have to be body contact to get bumped around a bit....so unless he gets a cheap shot like Baertschi did he should be fine.

Pretty much the whole damn offensive players, only way any will get injured is blocking a shot or a cheap shot....biggest team of weaklings to play the game.

Most fans declared it over when we stomped the Canucks in the playoffs a few years back. But is it really over until you've won the cup? That would make Calgarys rebuild 29 years and counting, Canucks.........

But seriously Nylander would be a great addition for the Canucks, no?

Thanks Carol.
Gotta like Markstrom's quotes, about players smiling after losses. I hope he smacks the next one that does it.
Markstrom is a true leader, maybe he should be Captain.

pretty much, but I will say I am so disappointed in the lack of physical play....watch the forwards they all just swing their sticks at puck carriers.

There was an instance mid way through the first where a duck player was carrying the puck behind his net, a Canuck forward (think it was Motte) was coming the other way, perfect opportunity to just level the duck but nope made sure to avoid any contact at all.

If the team doesn’t pressure and hit hard why would the opposition worry about moving the puck quickly and possibly turning it over. The Canucks will avoid the contact.

In my day we had a name for those types of players, but the PC movement won’t allow me to say it.

Yes but at what cost, so the answer is really no....unless TO takes a mixture of bottom 9 players that the Canucks seem to have plenty of.

Have you guys traded for Nylander yet?
- K-man25

Check back at 3. The offer on the table right now is Gagner + Tanev, with salary retained on both. Just waiting to hear back from Dubsey.

Well said.
A lot of the problem, in my opinion, is the leagues in which many of these players are trained in.
NCAA, European leagues and to a lesser extent Junior A leagues, have very little if any contact.
It has become a game of ballerinas on ice.

I'm with you on most of this. Contact is slowly being pushed out of the game along with fighting. Plus the players are bloody confused as to what a 'head shot' actually is so they are scared to death to hit for fear of suspension. the cheap players like Tkachuk, Marchand so forth don't give a poop about the rules but the majority of players are confused I think as to where the current game is evolving.

Not if it cost Pettersson like someone suggested

Pettersson is already better than Nylander.

Toronto gets the better player, and cap relief
we get the worse player and a $50 million obligation.

I can agree with a lot of this, but I have noticed that most other teams just seem to steam roll the Canucks...Jets, Ducks, Flames and so on. Where is their fear of reprisals, not from the league or the smaller, fearful Canucks.

Or Tanev/Edler/eg. It’s conceivable but very unlikely given how sought after he is

He's asking for what?
something in the range of $7-8 Million a year for probably 7-8 years.
