I feel like someone needs to stickup for Markstrom - LeftCoaster
I like Markstrom. However, hes supposed to be the backbone. WAAAAYYYY too many soft goals. Thats the reality. Even a team thats better defensively can not prevent the soft goals he lets in. |

The defense is brutal and not enough skill up front. - Marwood
We have motte and Gagner on the top line. The fact Markstrom didn’t get the W is simply inexcusable. If you disagree you should probably switch sports |

I dont care really. The Canucks need a better goalie and every team builds from the net out (or thats the way I feel it should be). I dont care how bad the rest of the team is, a better goalie instills confidence and buys the rest of the team to grow into their abilities.
I like Markstrom, but hes not good..... - chompsey
Ok I'll say it....the team has TWO, possibly three if you count Goldobin, top six forwards and one of them has a grand total of 18 games of NHL experience. Their defence is quite possibly the worst in the league. They're depth is currently depleted due to injury. Their current bottom six contributions amount to nothing offensively and they're brutal defensively which is why they play 5 to 8 minutes a night.
But yeah, we need a goaltender to instill confidence in this group where 50% of them should be in the AHL. |

What makes them the top line? The fact that they were listed first on twitter?
Fun fact....Motte played 15:49 - 6 forwards had more ice time. Gagner played 20:24 - 3 forwards had more ice time.
So, by the numbers, Motte was played like a 3rd liner and Gagner a 2nd liner.

100%
Ryan Miller didnt seem to have an issue with an AHL team, who was arguably worse than the team they have now. |

Great, he had a good game. If he could do that more often then I'd be singing his praises.
I'm cheering for him. I like him but too many soft goals..... |

Ya, they were bad...real bad, worse than the current team and he stole many games for them. Imagine how much worse they wouldve been without Miller? |

One correction for you. The depth isn’t depleted, it’s being tested. So far so good. |

Not that I'm a staunch supporter or Green, but what's the big call to fire him? This team wasn't supposed to be good from the start, and they've been missing two of their top six wingers, and their bottom two heavy-lifting centers. Plus Edler. I'm not sure what another coach could get out of this team more than he is?
Agree about Poo-poo though. He's been given enough rope, time to send him down. Leipsic as well, Gagner has done more in his 2 games up than he has to this point. - NewYorkNuck
Just starting conversation lol.
I don't want Green fired technically we didn't really need to fire WD given the personnel he was given to work with in his final two seasons.
Markstrom is a problem though. He gets alot of credit here for playing behind a crappy D but ultimately we get what we get with Marky.
Poolalot can go at anytime but will he pull a Hutton and bounce back?
Gagner should have never been sent to the minors. And they waited way too long to call him back after the injury bug hit. Honestly I thought we had moved on from Gagner but here we are. |

He was hung out to dry....again,he makes some absolutely spectacular saves only to have an inept team in front turn over the puck. The team needs to be blown up, they haven’t adjusted to adversity, Benning, Green, Brown, Baumgartner all need to be fired. - Makita
