Isnt Sanheim on PP2? I mean I guess that is basically 0 given how little they see PP time over the top unit. - xShoot4WarAmpsx

Giroux is the Captain, the team's best player and their highest paid player. He is responsible for the leadership on this team and for him to give that kind of effort is inexcusable. What did he do in the first period to lead or inspire.
You don't play on a team of professional athletes. You repeatedly make those comparisons and there is no comparison. Tell me how they pushed to get the next goal in the first period? There was no push. They were as soft as butter in a microwave.
The coach will pay the price if it continues so in that respect he is responsible but this is on the players. Namely the veterans and the team leaders. They were flat out non-competitive in the first period. - MJL
But Giroux cant make them play harder. Isnt that the line you use with Hakstol? What is Giroux going to do? He wasnt af fault for any of the other 3 goals? Giroux was flying on every other shift. im sorry but if you cant play good hockey because one guy on your team made a lazy play, you do not deserve to be on an NHL team. |

Man, Calgary is just beating the hell out of Winnipeg, chased Hellebucyk, put five on the board in the first. Put five on the board on the first in their last game against Vegas, too
This league changes in a heartbeat. Winnipeg might not have gotten railed like this over 82 games last season |

Don't young players take their cues from the vets? Well G and Coots played like crap for the first 9-10 minutes and what was the score after that... |

I thought Sanheim was soft on the second goal. Guarantee Hakstol saw what I did - AllInForFlyers
Sanheim need to recognize that they were overloaded onto Gudas' side and that he needed to go hard to the net. I guarantee what Hakstol is really looking at is the neutral zone turnover that created the rush. Watch Dale Weise, who for most of the seaoson has been good and the effort he makes on the back check. None! Sanheim is a rookie that will learn from that. Lack of effort for a veteran is inexcusable. It plagues this team at times.

Giroux can lead by example and play harder and not glide on the back check. That's how you lead. Giroux after that could've elevated his game and carried the team back into the game. That's leadership. Giroux's lack of effort was the start of it. It set the tone. If your top players aren't going to come out ready to play, how can you expect the young players to overcome that?

Nope, you are absolutely right. The way the team is playing you have to give Sanheim more minutes to see what he can do. If Hagg is playing those minutes and playing well then you have to swap Provorov and Sanheim, including the PP.
I am not sure if others saw what I saw tonight with Provorov, but I see an issue. Curious if anyone else paid closed enough attention to notice it too. - Glak18

Winnipeg at times has given Laine a fourth line kind of treatment this season. Or so is the rumour here anyway, I don’t really watch them.
Kid has talent but his skating is an issue and he’s a bit of a floater. |

That turnover was brutal, too -- puck should never have turned back around like that |

I don't know how the Flyers season will end, but each year even if they didn't make the playoffs they were always the Broad Street Bullies - at least something to hang your hat on. Now, Hextall took that away too. Heck, now they are the Pattison Avenue Pansies.
It's pretty bad when Laughton has to fire up the team by getting pummeled. Hell, the Buffalo players were all laughing after the fight. |

You are right; he has been on the fourth line some. He's not going hard all the time, as you said |

The NHL is not a fighting league anymore. The 70's are gone.

someone needs to inform the organ player in Arizona. If your team is down 2-1, I'm not sure "The Sound of Silence" is a pump up song |
