I think they take the weekend games. Just a Vibe.

I think at times the talent shines through. Giroux will throw them on his back again. Just a feeling really. There is too much talent overall for them to completely sink.

- flyer_nutter

True, but they better be ready to go

I am dead serious -- the Rags are much improved and are on fire right now, and people can say what they want, but Hank probably ain't kicking anything out into the slot or giving up short side

Andersen on Saturday might be the best goalie in the league right now and Toronto's skill can make you look really bad

They are gonna have to be ready to

I dont get the Giroux hate at all.

Year after year he shows up..
Once again this year he is leading the team in points.

- opeth_pa

I only caught the last 2 periods but he was by far thier best player tonight from what I saw.

Lyon is not an nhl goalie. Pickard is one year older. Just Bc Lyon is ours doesn’t make him any good. He’s ahl scrub material
- Just5

I believe that the first 3 goals were on the team in front of him. He could have been in a better position on the fourth. Pickard didn't have to make as many tough saves.

A lot of posts mentioning Hak.

I have a sick feeling if he is let go. You see Lappy or Gordon moved to HC.

Part of why they glide i think is they cherry pick for the long outlet pass way too much. I think they do it too often because of their lack of speed. They cheat a lot
- Just5

I think the lack of speed is overblown. They do have gap issues at times. The opening goal wasn't about cherry picking. The Flyers didn't have the puck. It was just a lack of effort and awareness. Unacceptable.

No chance that Lappy would be named interim in my opinion.

If Hak goes Hextall cleans NHL house.

If he goes to fire Hak and keeps the assistants it's all on him of things don't change

Not only that but he needs to not be one of the main reasons for the way the team starts.
- MJL

I dont understand how you can blame Giroux for the slow starts but defend the coach with the same logic. Either both are at fault or non. I dont believe for a second it is on Giroux, sure the 1st goal is his fault but that is no excuse to just not play. I play on teams just as bipolar as the FLyers. One game we are the best team in the league and other times we get out classed. If someone makes a mistake and we get scored on, I go out and push to get the next one. If the goalie lets in a bad goal I want to go out and get another one. No matter what happens as a player I always push to get the next goal. I dont care if we are down 10-1. There was one game just like Tampa game. My team was down 4-0. I scored 6 straight goals. We still lost in the shootout but I dont give up and as professionals that is the expectation.

I could see Knoblauch as a possibility but I prefer a new voice from the outside. I think they need someone with some weight also.

I don't know, man -- it's the NHL. Can't be kicking rebounds into the slot. It happens, but he wasn't blameless on that one

Hagg: 23:58

Sanheim: 16:05

I know Hagg has been playing better, and I am no hater but in a game where you truly need offense, does it make sense to play Sanheim the lowest amount of minutes out of your d core?

He should at this point. The amount special teams have regressed is unacceptable. How many extended losing streaks does this coaching staff get?

My issue is with the whole core because this crap has been around it seems like forever. Yes as Hak is accountable also but to exonerate the players is a joke

Hagg plays pk. Does sanheim play any special teams? That’s a lot of minutes for hagg though. But sanheim needs to be showing more. He has a tough time getting shots through

I agree clean house. Dont make someone else wear another person's dirty underwear. Bad enough Hakstol had to. Any NHL coach should get to put together their coaching staff.

I hear you, but in my opinion the first goal was in close being screened by a Flyer. I imagine in that close and being screened it's hard to not give up a rebound.

Could be poor drafting for all we know. We could just be drafting the wrong personalities.

Giroux is the Captain, the team's best player and their highest paid player. He is responsible for the leadership on this team and for him to give that kind of effort is inexcusable. What did he do in the first period to lead or inspire.
You don't play on a team of professional athletes. You repeatedly make those comparisons and there is no comparison. Tell me how they pushed to get the next goal in the first period? There was no push. They were as soft as butter in a microwave.
The coach will pay the price if it continues so in that respect he is responsible but this is on the players. Namely the veterans and the team leaders. They were flat out non-competitive in the first period.

Isnt Sanheim on PP2? I mean I guess that is basically 0 given how little they see PP time over the top unit.

Nope, you are absolutely right. The way the team is playing you have to give Sanheim more minutes to see what he can do. If Hagg is playing those minutes and playing well then you have to swap Provorov and Sanheim, including the PP.

I am not sure if others saw what I saw tonight with Provorov, but I see an issue. Curious if anyone else paid closed enough attention to notice it too.
