Typical homer stuff here. Klefbom is a top D man on the Oilers. A legit top four pairing guy in the NHL. Maatta has never lived up to his potential and likely never will. Sprong is a "scoring winger" who doesn't score. Good job |

I actually see Maatta as a better fit in a slower defensive minded system like Hitch deploys than in the Pens system. - MattStrat
Hitchcock loves big physical players, especially on defense. Maatta is neither big or physical. |

If 6’3 is no longer considered big, I’m starfing to approach midget status. |

I feel like Maatta is the perfect fit for the systems that Hitcock has his teams play. - j.boyd919
If Chia was worried about perfect fits for a coach they’d be in a lot better situation right now.
I can’t even see why an established coach would want this job. I mean yeah, to be able coach a generational talent is a rare thing, but knowing what they’re walking into with Chia it can’t be a major draw, right? |

I've started constructing my HBSL for next week. I love my lineup, but I have $1.1M free. I'm doing something wrong... lol |

Yeah those 7 goal 20 point guys that take bad penalties are must haves on any team looking to contend for the cup. |

Gotcha. My team is doing killer this week even though I'm losing. My new way of calculating is fairly effective at this point.
I'm torn between 3 games of Skinner or 4 game of E.Kane. Kane started strong, but has been less consistent. Skinner got hot for a minute, but now he's also kind of calming down.
Im also staying away from Boston players right now. I think Bergeron being out will profoundly affect Marchand and Pastrnak. |

If you guys can ignore recency bias
Maatta + Sprong for Klefbom is actually not a bad idea for either side |

With nearly 3 full game days ahead (today, Friday, weekend), you're a real early bird... free is always better than the opposite, i often can't fit several teams i like just because of $50k... but i would be surprised if your roster of today will be still the same at deadline anyways.

Its not even a 1/3rd played, moving up 50pts is definitely possible when your opponent had just a lucky bid on Monday... i liked your team and the "Feds optimizations", and nearly 200pts on a day shows that it is strong. |

If I am always torn between 2 guys I take whoever has more games.
Pasta and Marchand are too good. Doesn't matter who centers them. |

Yeah, the four games is really a big draw at the RW position this week with all the value guys there. Meier, DeBrincat and Rantanen. LW not so much, so I'm spending more there. I'm spending the most at C and D, but short-changing myself at G which I know could bite me in the ass. |

I've the lineup for next week, but I know I'll be editing it based on player performance and injures...
LW: E.Kane, Connor, Landeskog and Tkachuk (all have 4 except Tkachuk)
C: Duchene, Marner, Schiefele and MacKinnon (all have 4 except Marner)
RW: Wheeler, DeBrincat, Rantanen and Batheson (all have 4 except for Rant)
D: Josi, Byfuglien, Giordano, Burns, Reilly and Chabot (literally all top six - Burns, Chabot and Buff have four games)
G: Hutton and Gibson
I reworked and now have $500K free. Again, I'm sure I'll edit a bit. There's a few gambles in there that may fizzle by then. |

You'd have better luck targeting Russell as your GM seems to appreciate overpaid and overrated Corsi blackholes. Russell for Guentzel.
Weak premise. If you want to signal your knowledge by saying Klefbom is an excellent player, you can do so without hiding behind the overused and flimsy idea of "Chiarelli is a bad GM so therefore I can suggest stupid trade ideas". Sorry to spoil your wet dream, but Chiarelli doesn't read Hockeybuzz. He's more of a Sportsnet comment section guy (i.e. a cretin). - MaximumBone
But Chia is a bad GM that has a well documented history of stupid trades. It’s really not a flimsy idea at all. |

Maatta is tall, but he is not an imposing figure. My son ran into him one day not so long ago and told me that he was surprised at how he was built. He said you could tell he was an athlete as he was in incredible shape but really didn't look very strong at all. So, no, I don't consider him big. |
